COI hearings on MRT distruptions start on April 1616 Feb 2012 11:05
The Committee of Inquiry (COI) said hearing into the cause(s) of the MRT service disruptions on Dec 15 and 17, will commence on April 16, 2012. The hearing, which is open to the public, will be held at Court 1 in the Subordinate Courts. The COI said the date of hearing was set after ascertaining the time needed for investigations. The COI said it understands that there is a need for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT 'to carry out very thorough investigations before a meaningful public inquiry can be conducted along the Terms of Reference prescribed by the Minister of Transport'. The COI was appointed by the government to inquire into the cause(s) of the two major MRT service disruptions in 2011. Source: Business Times Breaking News

By talking to convinced her employer boss, her rop down style is alot more profiting venture, importing retail trade experience to a new conception style, a public transportation services company. Resulted in.... Taking responsibilities for nine years, chasing after profit is good, but oso for nine years leaving a long damaging trail of trackrail to mend. Bad as well for been less able to lay claim as world class. Thank to her for topping it down, firing most of her key experience top mgt term, left - included is several of her top deputy personnal and engineering staffs who is not good, not knowing how to explain or putting fine nice wording into their accessment paper. SMRT CEO resigns, Tan Ek Kia is interim CEO06 Jan 2012 19:04
SMRT Corporation announced on Friday that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Saw Phaik Hwa, has resigned. She will conclude her executive responsibilities with effect from today, the company said. Ms Saw's resignation comes after the five-hour breakdown last month of the North-South Line during rush hours. The disruption affected 127,000 passengers including 1,000 trapped in each of the four trains that stalled. Ms Saw will remain with the group to assist the relevant investigation teams and the Committee of Inquiry (COI) reviewing the causes of, and responses to, the disruptions to train operations in December, and with the transition to new executive leadership. In the meantime, board member Tan Ek Kia will assume interim executive responsibility for the management of SMRT, with a focus on rail operations, while the board conducts a search for a new CEO, SMRT said. Mr Tan has been a board director of SMRT since July 2009. He is a former Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Exploration and Production and Chairman of Shell North East Asia and has a diverse portfolio in engineering & construction, safety, operations and business management.
