With impending good news ahead on 3 Nov, the retail investors pure play is to take profits after a gain of 2 to 3 cents.   The institutions will then come in to snap up the shares when these retailers sell down to take profits.   That is what is going throughout from today until next Tuesday.   Depending on the strength of their 3Q financial report and other key strategic data, then we can determine the next threshold for CLI.  |

Many retail investors are mere speculators purely based on market sentiments and therefore they are not investors.   They speculate in the hope to get rich as quickly as possible. They don' t understand the meaning of economy of scale and its benefits.   They don' t read and don' t access to latest financial news updates of their investments.   This is one singular reason for the distortions of the stock market especially during the start and end of trading when they become highly emotional and desperate.  |

Having read several books, I am always curious of billionaire Warren Buffett' s secret formula to success in Walls Street:   His basic strategy is to " Invest" and never speculate.   When one invests, do your homework on the strategic growth of assets of the company first not the share price or profitability.   Next, he/she should never look at the investment every day, every month or even every year so long as the strategic growth intent of company assets is heading in the right direction of planning.   Basically, the quarterly reports, company announcements and the updates on business plans are key criterias of assets growth.    |

This volatility is fear driven and most retail investors will succumb to such fear and to make irrational decisions to drive down the share price. They are short term investors looking for quick profits.   With volatility, I have a good reason to believe that most of these retail investors will succumb to losses.  All strategic investors should remain calm and patience.   After all, Nov 3 is coming soon.  |

What makes China so unique in terms of the number of global trading partners.   Well, unlike US, China is a close ally and trading partner of Russia. In 2020, China' s trade with Russia exceeded USD100b. This number will increase in 2021.   President Putin has just a moment ago announced that Russia will help China' s energy crisis by pumping 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China. He also reiterated that China with 1.4 billion human capital will overtake the US as the largest economy in the world.   As for the China Taiwan issue, President Putin mentioned that President Xi has no ambition to use military force for unification. He added that the powerful economic and financial fundamentals of China would be the start of the formal integration of Taiwan into China.   |

PhillipCapital is initiating an &ldquo accumulate&rdquo recommendation on CapitaLand Investment (CLI) with a target price of $4.00, representing a 19.6% upside from the market price.
  According to analyst Natalie Ong, CLI has under its belt stable and recurring revenues from fees income and real estate investments.   These segments contribute about 20% and about 80% of EBITDA respectively. Approximately 80% of fee income from the fund management is recurring in nature while the lodging platform generates franchising and management fees from predominantly third party-owned assets. Income generating assets held by CLI is also expected to deliver highly visible cashflows.      
  &ldquo CLI has made great headway towards hitting its 2024 funds under management (FAUM) target of $100 billion,&rdquo says Ong.   Two new senior hires, Simon Treacy and Patrick Boocock, have been brought on to spearhead the growth of private funds. The lodging platform is also on track to surpass its 2023 target of 160,000 keys under management. CLI has already signed 8,300 keys in 8M21, bringing the number of keys to 130,900, of which, about 40% are still under development and have not begun contributing to revenue.   Ong is also positive on CLI&rsquo s asset recycling efforts, as its divestment targets are channelled into new economy sectors.   &ldquo CLI remains committed to its $3 billion divestment target, which will help replenish dry powder to be reinvested into new economy assets such as logistics, data centres, business parks, as well as lodging assets like PBSA and multifamily assets which provide stable returns. This helps to better diversify and keep the portfolio future ready,&rdquo says Ong.   On the outlook, Ong sees that CLI&rsquo s property portfolio continues recovers on the back of a reopening and return-to-normalcy, while its investment management and lodging platform continues to receive growing demand from private capital and lodging owners. The group also remains committed to its $3 billion divestment target - monetising its balance sheet and rebalancing into new economy assets to keep its portfolio future ready. |

JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley are the 2 largest US Banks that were granted approval of the Chinese Government to acquire 100% ownership of 2 well known Chinese securities companies.   This financial reform is unprecedented and would herald an opening for large foreign investors to acquire majority stakes in Chinese companies.   These Chinese financial reform and deregulation are key and in the right direction for China ascention as a global leader in finance.  |

Assuming that my prediction is right, I would not be surprised that CLI may contemplate secondary listings in both Shanghai and the new Beijing Stock Exchanges in the near future to seal CLI' s endearing commitment in China, hopefully when the Reminbi is globally recognised as powerful as the USD.   Then CLI' s standing as one of the largest global REIMs would be substantive and globally recognised.   This is not uncommon for Singapore companies, like Creative that listed earlier in the US Exchange in Nasdaq to tap the lucrative foreign investors money when US was then the most powerful unbeatable financial center of the world.   |
