Old guard? now you missed them ? tell that to our good neighbour mad old man , he wil mock you and he still harboured that deep grudges against sg becos of that.
And somehow i can still recall the memories of people whining and cursing the old man . In many countries, many politicians are willing to forgo their salaries if they can get elected. The republicans and democrats spent billions of dollars in election campaigns just to fight for $1 salary job ? |

Without perking their salaries to p&l kpis is not justifiable. When losses aft losses the only way is get frm taxes. Higher costs to run or higher costs to maintain high salary. Let me ask u all is 3k per mth job hard outside? Gvt guards already getting 3k. Head guard? 8k mind u.go chk all the lobo manpowers. Austherity or growth? Theres no growth only good for nthg parasites.

Sad story here. Most r suffering. Most will say dont pay so much, who want to work? Trump is successful in his business 1st bef gg into politics not politics 1st then successful. Like the saying goes, if can be successful in business, what is politics not to say only political management not mkg money. The old guards r diff. They went all out to look for busuness so citizens hav jobs. When u tell lky abt ft, he will say u r mad. Ask the lky pple.

There is no guarantee that high salary will get you a capable person. So that 's why there is usually interviews and panel of mgt to evaluate the qualificatiin and capabilties of the cabdidates. This is fair market compensation.
Lower rate also not guarantee you get inferior people. But with so many positions to fill, are you going to bet on luck ? If you are not willing to pay appropriate rate for that position, your selection will be less. Why do they want to work for you less given that they can get better at elsewhere? Donald trump can even get zero salary. why? go and find out yourself. Najib can also get zero salary, and we now know why. Mahathir so low salary yet can keep so many horses and granddaughter liv8ng such luxurous lifestyle. why? |

Getting high salary does not mean that person is capable.. There are many high salary glc head that does practically nothing...and gets high salary ... Many of these just take credit for what others has done.. I think its the same here.. The old sly fox : https://youtu.be/m8ootjoT80Y | ||||

Replacing the head is right but cutting salary?
Moving into AI era i find it strange to expect other capable people to work for you cheaply. Maybe we can. build AI to repace those over salary glc. |

They are cutting head and salary of head of glc which earn a lot in salary...to save cost..
Most of these head of glc is selected by previous admin not because of their knowledge or skills but because of their affiliation with party.. I think we can learn from them...to cut cost, reduce expenditure.. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/06/30/more-heads-expected-to-roll-in-glcs-after-pnbs-wahid-attention-is-now-focused-on-lths-johan-and-ltat/ |

https://www.malaymail.com/s/1647069/change-or-status-quo-umno-presidential-candidates-outline-plan-on-eve-of-el
Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi, de acting Umno president, said wants to move Umno forward in what he dubbed, a &ldquo New Deal&rdquo for party members while maintaining the party&rsquo s status quo. &ldquo We want to rejuvenate into Umno 3.0, n @same time, rebrand Barisan Nasional (BN) into new coalition. The party needs to return to its foundation and strengthen its spirit in fighting for Malay special rights, the royal institution, Bahasa Melayu and religion,&rdquo he said during a &ldquo live&rdquo debate hosted by Astro Awani.  Ahmad Zahid said if he was given the mandate as president, he would review several aspects of party terms on its organisational structure, spirit, philosophy and behaviour of its leaders and  insisted Umno would never be opened to non-Malays as it was enshrined on right of party Bumiputeras since its formation before independence. Umno veteran leader Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, he outlined need for party to change within 3-years should he appointed party president. &ldquo For past 20 yrs, Umno&rsquo s top leadership has been controlled by select few, those underneath cannot voice their opinion. &ldquo We want voice to influence the people sitting on top.&rdquo Fondly known as Ku Li, said as party president, he wanted to fuse old and young blood to contribute to rejuvenation Umno. &ldquo Younger ones who have received necessary qualifications are more productive and energetic, whereas older ones can provide guidance, he think is necessary in nation building. &ldquo What we need is for voices to be heard and offered so that they can be used as ideas for policy changes,&rdquo he said. In contrast to the other two candidates, Khairy Jamaluddin apologised and admitted the mistakes of the party&rsquo s leadership for their GE14 defeat. &ldquo We must do away with the insulated president culture and immediate action must be taken to attract new young talents to Umno so that we can prepare ourselves for a generation shift in the party,&rdquo he said. Khairy said openness to attract new talents into the party, who were once forbidden from voicing out and preparation, are among the key measures he would focus his commitments on should he be elected president. &ldquo We need to prepare ourselves to play a role as an effective Opposition and as president, I will not condone shortcuts in our journey to return to power. &ldquo It is crucial to show the people that we can rise to the occasion as Opposition by voicing out our demands and demand the fulfilment of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government&rsquo s manifesto,&rdquo he said, adding that the first thing he would do if elected president was to form a shadow Cabinet as Parliament convenes next month. After the candidates were asked to give a winding-up speech on why they were the best man for president, Ku Li expressed hope that the delegates would select a candidate who can revitalise the fighting spirit of Umno so that it remained relevant as it was not just another party. &ldquo Umno was formed in the spirit of independence and I believe this can be achieved if credibility and integrity are returned to the party in order to fulfil the wishes of the coming generation. &ldquo We have experienced the wave of change that put the party out of power and therefore, the delegates must study carefully who they want to choose so long as that person can maintain Umno&rsquo s survival for the country&rsquo s Malay population for the next 50 or 100 years,&rdquo he said. Khairy, however, reiterated his loyalty to the party should he fail to be elected president and pledged his support to the new president in his effort to rebuild the party. &ldquo This presidential election is not for Umno, but for Malaysia, and I urge the delegates not to ignore the voices of the people. &ldquo Use your instincts to vote for an Umno that is more dynamic and fresh... Show the people that Umno is brave in making changes,&rdquo he said. Ahmad Zahid. In  his closing speech, said he was confident about leadership continuity should he climb one rung up the ladder, but also expressed doubts that a candidate would not be able to carry out drastic changes in the party without it. &ldquo However, I am confident that the three of us will be able to breathe new life into Umno with our manifestos. &ldquo I am sure those elected to the Umno supreme council will work with the new president towards a brighter future,&rdquo he said. This is the first time the Umno presidential post is being contested since 1987. |

Postpone 100 years =  cancellation = no need to compensate Smart move on Mahathir' s part. By saying postponing indefinitely, is equivalent to cancellation BUT don' t have to compensate.

Dr M said that the HSR was only postponed. The last time, he cancel without 2nd thought.
We actually shot@implementation of the project. "High-speed trains are the most effective where the distance is very far, but where the distance is short, it does not help much." "So we have to reconsider high-speed trains," he said. "We cannot say we'll never come to have high-speed trains in Malaysia ? there will be a need for high-speed trains in the future, "n right up to the North..with Kedah in mind.
