There are 2 key advantages of an antigen test over a PCR test: (a) Antigen test provide results in minutes, as compared to hours required generally for a PCR test, hence it provides a quick turnaround time to identify the SARS-COV-2 infection during the acute infectious phase (b) Antigen test does not require laboratory or specialised equipment for processing, hence the costs are much lower for antigen test as compared to PCR test. However, the antigen test is less sensitive than PCR test. For the JOYSBIO Antigen Rapid Test Kit distributed by Biolidics, the overall combined clinical sensitivity is 93.9%, and specificity is 98.9% on the basis of 2 clinical studies carried in China and Italy." A friend was called for an ART, got his result within about 20mins and allowed to go home/work right away. Another friend was called for PCR test, waited for 1-2 weeks for result, and in meantime instructed to stay home, b4 receivinfg sms negative. (Think long period probably due to heavy jam at lab, becos of heightened resriction period.) Imo, ART, besides other rapids, are the way to go for mass testing, be it in S' pore or other countries. Whether Bio can surge their rev or profits would depend greatly on their marketting capabilities and competiveness. And if they are able to, think the price shd surge much higher, even div could be paid in time to come, maybe year end. Just opinion.
