x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	i find the charges for cfd about s$40 each trade leg to be high for cfd phillips.  a round trade will be $80.  In the long run,  we make money for Poems and how much can you make as short term trader..? anybody get experience if SAXO online really can be mucher cheaper for CFD . Good trade if can hold a  short  after June8 when all the shares hit the market.  Now it is a bit tricky to short as the bear traps are all around.  Short possibly near top of a squeeze.  Also have to  lookout for BBs /Temasek might preempt everyone and dump the stocks now as SIA already got all the money they need.   uiop1223      ( Date: 30-May-2020 18:59) Posted: Depends on each stock. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Sigh... excess rights are only available to shareholders, you are not a shareholder if you only hold the rights (and not the mother share), excess rights application occurs BEFORE the rights are converted to shares so you cannot just buy the rights after XR and apply for excess because YOU ARE NOT A SHAREHOLDER AT THE TIME OF EXCESS RIGHTS APPLICATION. Stocks like ARAH cant be short using cfd and need to try SBL if got shares to borrow Horseman1234      ( Date: 30-May-2020 12:03) Posted:   i believe @Veteran is refering to SBL where scripts are borrowed for you to short.  very complex.  Mostly the BB do it.  What most  retails traders who wants to short  do is CFD selling.  CFD is like a bucket shop.  There is no actual shares delivery involved just a market makers who takes the counterparty risk and set the buy sell price.  Now here is a very useful information for all those who wish to short!!!  Whenever the BBs or syndicate wants to squeeze short sellers and push price up,  they cannot have short sellers hit them at the top.  so the CFD short must be locked up.    You can check out the stock CFD ( L/S)  some will suddenly becomes ( L  only ).  Either the market maker also suspect  a squeeze is coming and dont want to get hit with a short at the top or the BBs took all the short position until the market marker can no longer hedge his position and offer a bid/ask price,  . whatever my observation is ...it is an excellent indicator of which stock is being collected for push and dump operation

Shorting should be done weeks ago. It's time to long. The world is reopening second wave or not. Just some simple hard data. Out if 15,000 to 20,000 foreigner workers infected, how many have died? ZERO. Doesn't this tell you some thing about the severity of COVID 19 ? The mortality rate has not changed a bit. Just protect the elderly and the weaker ones and life must resume for the rest but with masks on :)

I believe Philips Security might own some SIA shares ... or they borrow from their custodian holding (those who authorised them and earn interest) or maybe they will get the shares from SGX .... If they dun have any spare shares ...and can' t borrow from SGX to put into the CFD, you can' t short on their CFD platform
