Banyan Tree now has 3 global partners, the Qatar (so far just investment), Vanke (China' s largest property developer), and Accor (one of world' s largest hospitality group). I think it may be building up for sale. Timing wise only Mr Ho will know.   However, I believe Banyan Tree China (JV with Vanke) may be spun off and listed somewhere like Shanghai, Shenzhen or even HK. For hotels, room nites between $180 to $300 a nite you get good support from consumers. You work on volumes, not too exclusive until even the middle class finds it beyond their reach.  Wrong strategy in my opinion.
