EU total reserves 1.2 billion barrels, they release 400 million barrels to tide them over. But 20 million barrels pass through Straits of Hormuz daily, if completely blocked, the 400 million barrels release can last at most 20 days to a month. If war last another few months, EU is screwed. |

Note that whatever reserve stockpiles of oil they have will not be able to handle the demand of the world if the Straits of Hormuz continued to be blocked by Iran.

If Oil holds at current level, with Straits of Hormuz still off limits to oil tankers, then even with the stockpiles released from G7, there will still be shortages which means demand will be there but supply is not there and depleted, oil price will slowly creep up maybe at a more gentle pace. | ||||
