I have received about $100k in total dividends since 2013. I did not reinvest the dividend as I need the money for my daily expanses. So while the current price at $1.16 is making a paper lost of about $65k, I am still standing on a net paper profit of about $35k because of the dividends. But I am not selling this stock in my lifetime as it is one of my passive income revenues that' s giving me about $1k per month. This is way better than putting in bank. But due to the risk nature of stock market and being risk averse, I never increase my position in this stock.

9 years & based on 1.73 price, with average yield slightly above 5%, the return surely better than putting in the bank. Of course not considering opportunity cost. I started buying in Jan 2014 at 1.31, if not wrong. All this while, I didn' t increase my holding thru market purchase. My holding still went up because of Rights Issues & DRP. Only recently I added when opportunity presented itself. Now holding 220,300 units. |

Wow!  $1.73 to $1.16 is a huge haircut.  A 33% haircut.    How much dividends have you received in that time?  Probably better just to leave the $200k in the bank. You would have made much more.

Overall net gain since 2013 but annualised ROI might not be impressive, i.e. should took at comprehensive (cap+ div) annualised return. You might have been better off with another REIT that have both capital gain and dividend payout to much higher comprehensive return. That said, I' m still holding out and vested to bet on CLCT success in unlocking its value within the next 5 years. Otherwise, I' ll cut ' loss' (not net loss but opportunity cost in annualised return) and go else where.

I?ve bought CCT at $1.73 in 2013 using $200k from my savings. Now it?s $1.16. Seems like i?m making huge loss. But it?s not. Thanks to the high dividend yield I?ve actually made quite a profit if I sell all my shares now. But I intend to never sell and just pass it on to my children

Share price is anchored by fundamentals. Until they can unlock value by disposing their underperforming retail assets, these will continue be a drag on DPU, and hence share price.

Sounds good if compared to last year but actually quite bad compared to 1/2 yr ago.  DPU drop almost 9%. Partly because of DPU retention due to covid uncertainty. Even w/o retention, DPU drop 4%. Good news is good rental reversion (~+6% for both logistics and business parks) but drop (~2%) for retail. Personally felt CLCT' s transformation a bit too slow. Their massive retail portfolio still a drag

Just treat it as high yield fixed deposit. If and when price do rise, treat it as bonus and sell.

SA and MA is 4%,not 4.5%.  better don' t touch leverage. Volatility can kill. The returns are good enough. 1m65 already means one have at least 600k (less FRS) to invest. Using REIT ETF with 4% yield, can easly generate 2k/mth passive income with 600k, without touching the capital. With a DIY portfolio of forex exposed REITs such as CLCT, iRELT, KORE etc... average yield of 7% can generate about 3.5k/mth. Together with 2k/mth from CPF Life with FRS, one can comfortably retire with 4 to 5k+ inflation proof passive income. DYODD.  |

25/6/2022: Let get back to basic investment CPF ordinary account return 2.5%, Special and Medisave 4.5%, both are risk free. Who got the money for investment? Iron/Silver/Golden spoon holder, retiree. For retiree, can mortgage their Medisave Account to their children, because CPF will pay that out in cash to beneficiary. 5/7/2022: Margin Stock Trading Risk Assessment. Case 1 Cash purchase: With $25000 capital, target at Capland China Trust, the 5years average dividend yield is 6.313%(From SGX website) or $(1.14x0.06313) = $0.072 per unit or $72 per $1140 capital. Your yield is (6.313 - 0.3385) % = 5.97 %(Cash Purchase charge higher fee (0.3385%)). Or $25000x0.0597=$1492 dividend collected per year. Case 2: After purchase Capland China Trust, use Margin Facility with Loan Interest of 2.8%. Minimum Profit Trigger Point = Loan Interest + Buy Fee + Sell Fee = (2.8 + 0.275 + 0.275) % = 3.35 %. For Capland China Trust Price = $1.13/1.14, buy at $1.14. MPTP = $(1.14 + 1.14x0.0335) = $1.178. $1.18 will be the MPTP price. Suppose need to hold stock for 1 year, your yield is (6.313 &ndash 3.35) % = 2.963 %, or earn $25000x0.02963=$740 on top of $25000x0.0597=$1492 dividend. Margin Call: Take Margin Call Ratio at 1.4 For Capland China Trust Price = $1.13/1.14, buy at $1.14, 25000/1.14 + 25000/1.14 = 43859.65 of unit purchased. $25000x1.4=$35000, $35000/43859.65=$0.798, $(1.14 - 0.798) = $0.342, 0.342/1.14=0.3 meaning Capland China Trust drop by 30% then will trigger Margin Call.   |

Unlikely to last. While US is shooting itself in its foot trying to tame runaway inflation China is tying their feet with their zero covid strategy that will have repeated start stop lockdowns and openning up.  | ||||

My other major stocks are pretty stable and steady in their prices except this one. Not sure why. It' s price has receeded  from 140 to its present price. Pretty disappointing considering i have been accumulating all the way. In spite of the pretty good results, it is behaving like a sick pup
