Possible some medical $ switch over to lumber? Price of lumber increased 100% since end of Jun 20. In Avarga latest Annual Report, the Chairman took pain to explain its business. He even included the price chart of lumber, and explain why increasing lumber price is good for the company.

The other major shareholder is Tong Kooi Ong, holding 31% of the company. Who is this guy? TONG KOOI ONG Executive Chairman Mr. Tong is an entrepreneur and an analyst. He has business interests in media, property development, digital technologies and other businesses in Singapore, Malaysia and Canada. He is on the board of M+S Pte Ltd, a joint venture between Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd. Just sharing additional info.

Extracted from Taiga Buildings' latest financial statement:  Gross Margin Gross margin for the quarter ended June 30, 2020 increased to $42.7 million from $34.9 million over the same period last year. Gross margin percentage was 12.0% for the three months ended June 30, 2020 compared to 9.8% in the same period last year. These increases were primarily due to rising commodity prices Gross margin for the six months ended June 30, 2020 increased to $73.3 million from $62.4 million over the same period last year. Gross margin percentage was 10.8% for the six months ended June 30, 2020 compared to 9.7% in the same period last year. These increases were primarily due to rising commodity prices.  Extracted from Avarga' s latest financial statement: Revenue from the building products business of Taiga for 1H2019 increased by 6% to S$692.5 million from S$655.1 million over the same period last year. The increase was largely due to the Group experiencing higher selling prices for its commodity products during the period which was offset by a significant decline in revenue during April 2020 as a result of Covid-19. Gross margin for 1H2020 increased by S$11.3 million or 18% to S$74.9 million from S$63.6 million over the same period last year. Gross profit margin percentage increased from 9.7% for 1H2019 to 10.8% for 1H2020.
