Will MAs be relevant in 6 months time if SMM wins no new huge contracts between now and then? SMM will have a life of its own just based on MAs?

Congratulations to SMM! Thanks all shortlists too. Without them, I wont be able to get $0.082 for all my lots. Certainly, I am more than happy if they can help me short to $0.04-$0.01, for me to accumulate 50% cheaper. At that price,why not? Do let me have your targeted timeline,at $0.04, shortists Btw, I have set few alerts at $0.07 to $0.04

SM is now above its day MA60, and its day MA200 is ard 0.124, it will thus go towards that and clear it in due course....no amount of ghost story humtum analysis or shouting is going to bend the MA60 line so easily....it is the collective input of the human traders and trading machines that will dictate the ma line | ||||

(Courtesy Sembcorp Marine)  Offshore staff SINGAPORE &ndash Sembcorp Marine&rsquo s Tuas Boulevard Yard has completed the load-out and tandem lift of the topsides structure for Shell&rsquo s Vito FPU project in the US Gulf of Mexico. Following load-out, the topsides structure was transported via the yard&rsquo s heavy-lift vessel Elite Prosperity and lifted onto the FPU hull using two goliath cranes with a combined lifting capacity of 30,000 metric tons (33,069 tons) and a 100-m (328-ft) hook height. Sembcorp&rsquo s Brazilian yard Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz is performing modification and integration work on the FPSO P-71, which will be deployed at Petrobras&rsquo Itapu field offshore Brazil. The vessel is due to be delivered in 4Q 2022. The group is also continuing with pre-FID work on the circular Cambo FPSO which Siccar Point Energy aims to deploy west of Shetland. Sembcorp anticipates FID will follow soon |

many new contracts in the industry. The issue is can SMM compete and win contracts? This is a chicken and the egg issue. If cant do present job well, SMM cant win new contracts. If cant win new contracts, SMM cant do good job. A slide to the bottom. SMM must break this bad cycle

shipyards in vietnam, thailand, indonesia, malaysia, order books are filling close to 100% for gas platform and wind farm substation platform. Interest on building offshore drilling rigs and offshore construction vessel are still very low. Shipyards which are not filled with offshore production facilities project such as FPSO (for deep sea), Oil and Gas platform with Jackets(for shallow water), Wind farm substation platform (for shallow water) are basically losing its competitives within regional shipyards. 1.4Bil order books(SCM). vs 5.8Bil order books(Keppel)

 Interesting days ahead for SMM. The longer it takes SMM to win big contracts, the more its price will go down. How long can SMM last without new jobs? 8c artificial floor price cant hold if no new big contracts

SMM mgmt is still waiting for recovery. Some retail investors believe SMM' s propaganda and still waiting for billion dollar contracts soon and merger. But they didnt ask why wld anyone want to award SMM contracts when they have so many problems and who wants to merge with a liability company? Merger is likely if ordered by govt because of political considerations, not on economic merits. Such a merger is likely to be disadvantageous to SMM because they bargain from a position of weakness rather than strength

A wise view. Many industries have recovered. O& M too. Many companies have recovered and some are on the way. How abt SMM? Still blaming oil price collapse, covid, manpower, logistics? The Board and mgmt shd do self reflection and do something abt their weaknesses. Profits and contracts dont drop from the sky onto their laps. Just relying on hope will not do.

Now that TH is the biggest shareholder, please get some old hands (eg Ex CEo Mr Tang) back to steer the company back to health. During CB 2020, SCM have too many workers. They allowed too many workers to go without replenishing them, surprisingly Now short of workers. KOM and SCM are both linked to the mother company TH, but there is no co-operation between the 2 company during this covid crisis. They need to pool the resouces together. Share workers, sub contract jobs, buy common material in bulk to get cheaper pricing, etc. Current management is not suitable for this job. Remove and change them please! |
