Cannot blame the shareholders. The independent directors of the Board should be brought to task to answer why they are oblivious to all those non-disclosures by the other directors. What about the independent auditors? They are not investigated? All should be investigated. Many shareholders lost a lot of their monies and life savings investing into this now junk status cpy. |

CAD, MAS and Acra open joint probe into Hyflux TUE, JUN 02, 2020 - 8:20 PM THE Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) of the Singapore Police Force, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (Acra) have launched a joint investigation into Hyflux and its current and former directors for suspected false and misleading statements and breaches of disclosure requirements under the Securities and Futures Act, as well as non-compliance with accounting standards under the Companies Act. The investigation follows from a review into Hyflux-related disclosure, and compliance with accounting and auditing standards that was announced by Acra, MAS and the Singapore Exchange Regulation on April 16 last year, the authorities said in a statement on Tuesday. " The review disclosed reasons to suspect that offences may have been committed. The investigation will ascertain whether there were lapses in Hyflux&rsquo s disclosures concerning the Tuaspring Integrated Water and Power Project (Tuaspring IWPP), as well as non-compliance with accounting standards between 2011 and 2018," they said. During the investigation, CAD, MAS and Acra obtained accounting and other corporate records from Hyflux and its subsidiary Tuaspring Pte Ltd. Hyflux&rsquo s directors and key officers who were involved in the Tuaspring IWPP have also been interviewed by the authorities. The criminal investigations are separate from and do not pertain to Hyflux' s ongoing corporate rescue process. When come to investment, nothing is risk free. There are companies that bring their businesses to the next level , yet there are some that couldn't make it through and failed. As long as the company is transparent and abide good corporate governance, it is all upon us to join, to stay or to exit. I do agree EHT is however a unique one from the start although few warning signs were uncovered and soon suspended within half year of its listing..........having said that， there are still people managed to exit EHT saga.👍 👍

How does Hyflux saga extends to future of Singapore shares?
Hyflux is simply a badly managed company, with poor results for long time. Many people including in this thread already sound alert few years before it collapsed. Shareholders refuse to believe. Now want to blame SGX, blame MAS, blame government, blame Singapore???

SINGAPORE: Hyflux&rsquo s high-profile debt restructuring seems to be hanging in the balance again after it said on Friday (May 29) that its S$400 million rescue deal with Middle Eastern suitor Utico has " ceased2 with the lapsing of the long-stop date earlier this week. The embattled water treatment firm said it remains in talks with Utico and is studying the latter&rsquo s revised offer to replace all cash considerations for creditors with stocks. Hyflux, which is , signed the restructuring agreement with Utico on Nov 26 last year. The deal was to be completed within six months, that is May 26, or another agreed date by both parties.under court protection to restructure a mounting debt pile of nearly S$3 billion But there &ldquo has been no such mutual agreement between the company and Utico to extend the long-stop date, which therefore remained as May 26, 2020&rdquo , according to the company&rsquo s bourse filing on Friday night. &ldquo Accordingly, the restructuring agreement has ipso facto ceased and determined,&rdquo Hyflux said. |

True... looking at the amount of money the share holders to be able to get back, I will not be surprised that many of them are waiting to vote for the company to bankrupt. There is no reason for them to keep the job for those that not doing their job and get the company to current stage.
