Daily Gold & Silver Market Report - 2/6/20152/6/2015 9:08:03 AM By: Jennifer Carter
GOLD SLIGHTLY DOWN AS THE UNITED STATES AWAITS JOB DATA REPORT Gold fell slightly as world leaders await results from the U.S. employment data report. A strong report would strengthen the possibility of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates, which would curb Gold&rsquo s appeal. A weak report could result in a weaker dollar, boosting bullion prices. Saxo Bank senior manager, Ole Hansen said, " The Federal Reserve seems to be tuned in to change rates before July ... the only way that could change is if numbers turn out to be much weaker than expected." Stock markets closed lower with news the European Central Bank will not allow banks to use Greek debt as collateral for loans. Peter Boockvar, chief market analyst at The Lindsey Group, said, &ldquo This is because the ECB only accepts investment grade paper and up until today gave Greece a waiver to this clause. That waiver has now been taken away and Greek banks now have to go to the Greek Central Bank and tap their Emergency Liquidity Assistance facility for funding. This news will likely scare depositors and result in further bank runs. This all said, if Greece can come to an agreement with the troika, I' m sure the ECB will reinstate the waiver." Prior to the news, the Dow jumped 100 points. At 10:07 am. (ET), the APMEX Precious Metals spot prices were:

Wall Street breathed a sigh of relief this week after a case of the jitters the last couple of weeks. Fears over a deflationary plunge in the euro zone had sparked an increased demand for safe haven assets, including gold and silver. The decline to multi-year lows in...

Today I would like to look at the precious metals complex and see how things are moving along. Consolidating would be an understatement. The PM complex has been in a very large consolidation pattern going all the way back to the June 2012 low where the HUI, GLD and SLV...

Daily Gold & Silver Market Report -- 2/5/20152/5/2015 12:09:08 PM By: Marcey Hollon
GOLD FALLS ON UNCERTAINTY STOCKS RALLY ON OIL Investors were left on the sidelines with uncertainty as the  European Central Bank (ECB) said it will no longer accept Greek bonds for funding  on Thursday. Gold fell almost one percent on the news and Athens, which is seeking debt relief from eurozone lenders, received a blow by the ECB' s announcement that lowered the euro against the dollar in early trading. In an effort to fight off an economic slowdown and add more liquidity, China cut the reserve requirements for banks, which may provide short term demand for Gold. While China and Europe continue to pour more money into their systems, the United States is moving toward a tightening cycle. Ahead of Friday' s all important jobs report, U.S. stocks traded higher due to encouragement by oil gains as oil recovered to trade above $50 a barrel. " We have a habit of looking at crude as a barometer for global economic growth," Wunderlich Securities chief market strategist Art Hogan said. Regressive analysis by his firm showed that for the last 25 years, the S& P 500 has only had a 0.03 correlation with crude. That correlation has jumped to 0.7 since crude began its decline last June. At 1:08 p.m. (ET), the APMEX Precious Metals spot prices were:

GOLD DAILY- As the below chart describes we should end the gold correction this week. Good support around the $1,240 level. Once we start heading higher, I will start looking for signs of a top. No divergences to note in the indicators at the moment.

Daily Gold & Silver Market Report - 2/4/20152/4/2015 8:41:08 AM By: Brandi Brundidge
GOLD ON MOVE THOUGHTS SPLIT ON INCREASING INTEREST RATES Gold rebounded from yesterday' s 1 percent loss after China' s central bank required banks to reduce the amount of cash on reserves to make it available for stimulating their economy. " Gold' s rally this year has partly been based on this premise that central banks are losing their fight against slower growth and deflation  and are having to take even more radical monetary policy measures and this plays into that narrative.  But it' s also because China is a huge consumer of Gold and economic growth should boost demand. That said we' re really talking about impact on the margin," Macquarie analyst Matthew Turner said. Not everyone agrees that the Federal Reserve should increase interest rates, including former General Electric Chairman and CEO Jack Welch, who confirmed his thoughts today on CNBC' s " Squawk Box," saying, " I think the Fed would be crazy to raise rates at this point with the dollar where it is.  It would be insane." After last week' s Fed meeting, policymakers did not rule out hiking interest rates this year however, they haven' t set a definite date.  An important factor to consider before changing interest rates is how the job market is performing. The ADP National Employment Report confirmed today U.S. private employers added 213,000 jobs in January, while a Reuters survey of economists had projected 225,000 jobs.    The market will focus on Friday' s non-farm payrolls report to get a better perspective of how the U.S. economy is performing. At 9:40 a.m. (ET), the APMEX Precious Metals spot prices were:

Daily Gold & Silver Market Report -- 2/2/20152/2/2015 10:07:49 AM By: Paul Stevens
METALS PULL BACK AS INVESTORS CASH IN ON PROFITS Precious Metal prices are off to a slow start Monday morning after closing January with Gold' s biggest monthly rise in three years.  A  bleak global economic outlook has supported the metal' s safe haven demand, while the boost in price has caused some investors to begin profit taking.  Societe Generale analyst Robin Bhar said, " Midweek last week we saw a 3 percent fall in Gold post the [Federal Open Market Committee], based on fears that the United States is still on course to raise rates. The market has had a good tailwind to it, and now there are a few more doubts creeping in that perhaps the rally was overdone. There is a bit of profit taking coming through." International stocks stalled Monday as investors continued to take in disappointing eurozone growth data and China' s first Purchasing Managers Index gauge contraction in nearly 2 1/2 years.  With the Greek political situation creeping back into investors' minds,  some are concerned with the future of the European market. Goldman Sachs analysts wrote in a note, " We do think that (a Greek eurozone) exit would generate heightened volatility and a higher risk premia in other European equity markets, particularly in the periphery." At 11:06 a.m. (ET), the APMEX Precious Metals spot prices were:
