Oil prices on the way up again as OPEC+ signals significant cut to production Watching macro developments in yields and oil prices Markets saw some respite in the past 3 trading sessions on the expectation that 10YUST has peaked at 4% - it was down to 3.6% at one point, and currently at the 3.75% level Markets may also be expecting a less aggressive Fed on (i) signs of softening in recent manufacturing PMI and employment prints, and (ii) a surprise smaller-than-expected rate hike by Australia&rsquo s central bank Currency markets have also stabilized with the British pound (indicated by GBPUSD) recovering back to the 1.13 level before the mini budget on 23 September That said, US inflation at 8.3% y-o-y remains too high for the Fed to take a dovish stance at this point &ndash DBS&rsquo economists expect Fed fund rates to hit 5% by 1Q23 (currently 3% - 3.25%) The Fed&rsquo s fight against inflation may be compounded by a risk of rising/elevated oil prices on latest  OPEC+&rsquo s decision  to cut production by 2 million barrels per day Brent crude prices have moved up > 10% in the last 10 days from a recent low of US$84/bbl to the US$93/bbl level currently (but down from March&rsquo s peak of US$127) DBS analysts&rsquo   forecast  of Brent crude trading at US$102-107/bbl in FY22F and US$100-105/bbl in FY23F should hold, but further upside is possible in coming months Upcoming earnings will come into focus as investors watch out for early signs of earnings slowdown and/or rising costs (e.g., input costs, cost of debt)  Index heavyweight  banks&rsquo   earnings and outlook will also be closely watched as investors balance the upside from net interest margin (NIM) expansion and the risk of slowing growth as interest rates rise
