M'sian tycoon to head UPP Business Times. UPP Holdings will be appointing Malaysian tycoon Tong Kooi Ong as chief executive officer and executive chairman with effect from May 1. The announcement came after the stock market closed yesterday. UPP's share price had ended trading at a 52-week high of 33.5 cents - up two cents or 6.3 per cent. Mr Tong, 52, is UPP's second largest shareholder with a stake of over 26 per cent. He is said to be a close friend of local billionaire Peter Lim, who is UPP's largest shareholder with a stake of over 31 per cent, according to Bloomberg data. Mr Tong bought into UPP in March and the market had been expecting him to take up a key role in the firm. He holds several other appointments in other companies. For instance, he is a board member of M+S Pte Ltd, a joint venture between Khazanah Nasional and Temasek Holdings. According to a UPP announcement in February, current CEO and executive chairman Koh Kim Huat was to step down on May 31. UPP said yesterday that " the company has since agreed with (Mr Koh) that his last day of service will be 30 April 2012 instead" . |

My broker confirm that there is some good news in the pineline. He recommanded a buy with TP of $0.65 and crossing $0.35 in the short term. Do keep a look out and good luck. |

Rumour said,before new boss buys more shares, most likely already have new venture in the pipeline, nobody knows when the news will be released,anyway price below 20cts ll be history,investors are buying into their bright future, used to be 50-70cts loooong ago, short term tgt 30cts | ||
