Abe - " My immediate task is to deal with North Korea," told reporters late Sunday. " Tough diplomacy. With the mandate given by the people, to exercise my command in diplomacy." US President Trump called Abe to congratulate him. Both leader is going to talk tough, in the face of an increasingly hostile North Korea.
Abe set a deadline  of 2020 to revise Japan' s constitution, it contains language that bans the country from maintaining armed forces. It' s controversial proposal that strikes at the heart of the country' s post-war identity. Abe called the election in order to secure a two-thirds " super majority" in Parliament, which will help him achieve his goal of amending the constitution.   An exit poll by public broadcaster NHK forecast a decisive win for Abe' s coalition, saying his conservative Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) would take 253 to 300 of Parliament' s 465 seats. The Komeito party is predicted to take 27 to 36 seats.

http://www.inquisitr.com/videos/2696351/strange-vortex-and-orb-spotted-near-cern-facility/ A strange vortex and an orb has been sighted in the sky by tourists near the CERN facility in Switzerland. Conspiracy theorists are running wild with theories ranging from space crafts, black holes and interdimensional portals. The European Organization for Nuclear Reasearch (CERN) designed and built the Large Hadron Collider, the most powerful particle collider, which runs beneath the France-Switzerland border. Conspiracy theorists claim that the Large Hadron Collider could form micro-black holes. Well, just a few short months. CERN fired it up again, it&rsquo s already helped scientists uncover a completely new class of particle &mdash the pentaquark. First theorized in the 1960s, pentaquarks are basically a specific type of subatomic particle that are comprised of  five quarks &mdash the smallest subatomic particles that scientists have ever been able to  observe. In different combinations, quarks come together to form larger particles &mdash much like different combinations of protons, neutrons, and electrons produce different elements on the periodic table. Just last year, particle physicists at CERN announced the discovery of the first four-quark particle (tetraquark) named Z(4430) &mdash but the discovery of this new pentaquark  particle takes things a step further, and could open up completely new realms of physics. Related: Get inside CERN: ALICE with these shots from Antonio Saba
&ldquo The pentaquark is not just any new particle,&rdquo said LHCb spokesperson. &ldquo It represents a way to aggregate quarks, namely the fundamental constituents of ordinary protons and neutrons, in a pattern that has never been observed before in over 50  years of experimental searches. Researchers have been looking for this particle,  and this' s  first time scientists have found conclusive evidence of its existence. This &ldquo It&rsquo s as if the previous searches were looking for silhouettes in the dark. CERN. This is just the beginning of new discovering super subatomic particles within atomic particles.

She was known in the region as the " Nostradamus of the Balkans" . Vanga lost her sight when she was 12. She was swept away by a mighty tornado. Later she was found alive, covered with dirt and stones, with sand in her eyes. She became blind as a result. Vanga started making predictions when she was 16. She helped her father find a sheep stolen from the flock. She provided a detailed description of a yard where the animal was being hidden by the thieves. Her powers of foreseeing took shape after she turned 30. Many a statesman visited Vanga. Adolf Hitler called on her one day. He left her house looking rather upset. Vanga died in 1996 and predicted many of the major global shocks such as the tsunami of 2004 or the attack on the Twin Towers. And now, one last omen seems to begin to be fulfilled: according Baba Yanga, 2016 would be the year that " Muslims will invade Europe" . Yanga Baba prophesied that in 2018 China will be the first " super power" in the world, taking the lead from the already worn U.S, plus, she added, in the same year a space probe will discover " a new form of energy" in planet Venus.

Blood Falls, Antarctica. Underneath their icy soils lies a vast and ancient network of salty, liquid water filled with life. The Dry Valleys are almost entirely ice-free, except for a few isolated glaciers. The only surface water is a handful of small lakes. Inside the canyons, the climate is extremely dry, cold and windy researchers have stumbled upon mummified seals in these gorges that are thousands of years old. Yet there is life in this extreme landscape. For instance, bacteria living under Taylor Glacier stain its snout a deep blood red. The rust-colored brine, called Blood Falls, pours into Lake Bonney in the southernmost of the three largest Dry Valleys. The dramatic colors offer shocking relief to senses overwhelmed by the glaring white ice and dull brown rocks. |

The Mobile Battery That Charges In One Minute. Sky News Scientists have developed a battery that could allow a mobile phone to be charged and ready for use in one minute. The new aluminium power cell is also much safer than existing lithium technology, can be bent and damaged, and does not catch fire. The researchers at Stanford University in California say the battery can be recharged more often than usual batteries without losing its effectiveness. It has the potential to be a major breakthrough as electricity storage becomes increasingly important in tandem with renewable energy. Hongjie Dai, professor of chemistry at Stanford, said: "We have developed a rechargeable aluminium battery that may replace existing storage devices, such as alkaline batteries, which are bad for the environment, and lithium-ion batteries, which occasionally burst into flames. "Our new battery won't catch fire, even if you drill through it. Lithium batteries can go off in an unpredictable manner - in the air, the car or in your pocket." |

World's Most Powerful Atom Smasher restart.
http://m.phys.org/news186578000.html Geneva. Scientists have restarted the world's most powerful atom-smasher overnight. European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) said Sunday, as they launch a new bid to uncover the secrets of the universe. "The LHC is on its way again. First beam of 2010 circulated in each direction by 04.10 CET (0310 GMT)," said CERN. The 3.9 billion euro (5.6 billion dollars) Large Hadron Collider (LHC) was shut down in December to ready it for collisions at unfathomed energy levels. It was run for a few weeks after being successfully revived from a 14 month breakdown. The particle collider -- inside a 27-kilometre (16.8-mile) tunnel straddling the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva -- is aimed at understanding the origins of the universe by recreating the conditions that followed the Big Bang. Weeks before technical shutdown in December, the collider achieved over a million particle collisions and accelerated proton beams to energy levels never reached before, said CERN. Collisions reached a world record energy level of 2.36 teraelectronvolts (TeV), already allowing scientists to gather data. CERN now wants to reach 7.0 TeV to recreate conditions close to the Big Bang, and run it at those levels for 18 to 24 months. Subsequently scientists aim to reach the LHC's design energy of 14 TeV, but only following another long technical shutdown in the second half of 2011. Before the LHC experiment, no particle accelerator had exceeded 0.98 TeV. One TeV is the equivalent to the energy of motion achieved by a flying mosquito. The LHC, a global effort, aims to resolve physics problems including "dark matter" and "dark energy", thought to account for 96% of the cosmos. The scientists' Holy Grail is to find a theorised component called the Higgs Boson, commonly called the "God Particle", which would explain how particles acquire mass. The experiment, fruit of decades of experiments and research by physicists from around the world, has even attracted Hollywood in recent years with fictional blockbuster "Angels and Demons". |

The World's Most Powerful Atom Smasher Restarts With a Big Bang LiveScience.com
5 hours ago. World's most powerful atom smasher, the Large Hadron Collider, which provides a window into the universe just milliseconds after the Big Bang, came back to life this morning, after more than two years of maintenance and upgrade work, and it's stronger than ever. At 10:41 a.m. local time near Geneva, Switzerland. A proton beam zipped around the 17-mile-long (27 kilometers) ring-shaped structure. Then at 12:27 p.m. Geneva time, another proton beam trekked around the ring in the opposite direction, officials at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) (April 5). The 1st run of the restar. LHC hit energies of 450 GeV, where one GeV is equivalent to the mass of a proton. In the coming days, LHC operators plan to amp up the energy of the proton beams to the highest ever achieved. "After two years of effort, the LHC is in great shape," Frédérick Bordry, CERN director for accelerators and technology. "But the most important step is still to come when we increase the energy of the beams to new record levels." LHC is best known for its detection in 2012 of the long-sought Higgs boson particle, thought to explain how other particles get their mass. Inside the gigantic collider, two proton beams zip around at near light speed in opposite directions. When the two beams collide, various subatomic particles, some unknown to science, are produced. The collider relies on strong magnetic fields (created by superconducting electromagnets) to guide the proton beams the electromagnets must be chilled to minus 456.3 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 271.3 degrees Celsius), colder than outer space, so they can conduct electricity without resistance or energy loss, according to CERN.Liquid helium helps to keep the system that cold. The upgrade was a "Herculean task," according to the CERN statement. Teams of scientists consolidated 10,000 electrical interconnections between the magnets, added magnet protection systems and improved various other aspects of the giant collider. Protons will be bunched closer together in the beams inside the upgraded LHC, meaning more collisions. The new-and-improved LHC will be more powerful than ever, smashing protons together at energies up to 13 trillion electron volts (TeV) for comparison, the atom smasher was running at 8 TeV when it detected the Higgs boson. Higher energies mean more chances of discovering the exotic particles the LHC was created to find. "The Higgs discovery was one of the most important scientific achievements of our time," James Siegrist, the U.S. Department of Energy's associate director of science for high energy physics, said in a statement. "With LHC operational again, at even higher energies, the possibilities for new discoveries are endless. Beyond finding the Higgs boson. LHC could produce particles predicted by a theory called supersymmetry that says every particle has a partner. These supersymmetric particles, or sparticles, in turn, could solve the mystery of dark matter, the invisible stuff in the universe that reveals itself only through its tug on normal matter. With heavier proton beams, the LHC can recreate conditions that existed just a few billionths of a billionth of a billionth of a second after the universe was created. By studying these conditions, physicists hope to figure out why the universe is made mostly of matter and not anti-matter. About 10,000 people from 113 different countries, including seven U.S. DOE national labs & 90 U.S. universities, helped to design, build and upgrade the LHC. https://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-buzz/engineering-students-put-out-fire-with-sound-waves-160458285.html What began as an idea for a senior research project is now a fully-functional device that really has the Internet talking. Engineering students Seth Robertson, 23, and Viet Tran, 28, from George Mason University in Virginia invested about $600 of their own money into developing a &ldquo somewhat portable&rdquo device that can put out fires with low-frequency sound waves. Tran explained to the Washington Post that sound waves are &ldquo pressure waves, and they displace some of the oxygen&rdquo and at the right frequency, those waves can separate the fire&rsquo s oxygen from the fuel. &ldquo The pressure wave is going back and forth, and that agitates where the air is. That specific space is enough to keep the fire from reigniting.&rdquo Initially, the duo assumed high-frequency sound waves would prove effective in dousing a fire. Instead, low frequencies did the trick. &ldquo But it&rsquo s low-frequency sounds&mdash like the thump-thump bass in hip-hop that works,&rdquo Tran told the university&rsquo s website. Robertson and Tran applied for a provisional patent on their device last November, which gave them a year to perfect their invention. So far, they&rsquo ve only put out fires started with rubbing alcohol, so other flammable chemicals still need to be tested. &ldquo We still want to do a lot more testing to see if we need to change the frequency [to extinguish] other&rdquo materials, Tran said, before they spend thousands of dollars on the patent application. A local fire department, hopeful that the engineers&rsquo device will be able to replace the &ldquo toxic and messy chemicals&rdquo used in fire extinguishers, wants to test their sound-wave extinguisher on a structure fire, the Washington Post reported. Another potential application for the device? Fires in space. &ldquo Fire also is a huge issue in space,&rdquo Tran said. &ldquo In space, extinguisher contents spread all over. But you can direct sound waves without gravity,&rdquo Robertson added. The device, if successful in putting out larger fires &mdash the inventors hope that the extinguisher attached to a drone will help fight forest fires safely &mdash could prove a game-changer in locations where water and foam are harder to come by. |
