You don' t need to wait a year like my example. You can cover in one day, one week, one month or two years. But you will have to foot bank interest based on the value of the day you borrowed the shares. The interests you have to pay is about 10% per year, it will work on prorata basis, meaning if one month only you pay interest rate of 10 divided by 12month. Understand?

If you have a share borrowing account, you can borrow say 2million shares and put about 30% as deposit, (30% equals $5000 approx) you don' t need to cover for 1 year. Say now you short at $0.008 and waited til next year, or anytime the share price drops to say $0.002, you can buy back to cover and make a profit of $12,000.

Very low chance of moving up if GEM is selling since the company will help it to cover short by issuing new shares to it. So no need to buy back from open market. GEM profit is pretty gauranteed while your loss is also pretty gauranteed by mgmt " corporate action" . All legal, no laws or listing rules broken. They haha, you lanlan. No choice, SGans too rich but too stingy so SGX must help scums to " open up" reetailers' pocket...

It depends on the BBs who shorted at above 10 cents on borrowed shares. If they start buying back, then you have chance for moving up.
