Answer these questions pls. If you have no answer, pls dont beat around the bushes. Quote: Temasek owns 56% of Starhub Temasek, together with CPF, own 55% of Singtel. Why is Singtel less risky than Starhub? Starhub paid $0.0625 for 1st half of 2019. Assuming it pays the same $0.0625 for 2nd half, which is lower than $0.16 in FY 2018, its yield based on todays closing of $1.52 is 8.2%. Singtel paid $0.107 for 1st half of 2019. Assuming it pays the same as in 2018 2nd half of $0.068, its yield based on todays closing of $3.45 is ONLY 5%. Why is Singtels return better than Starhub? No point engaging in a logical argument with a run-of-the-mill RETAIL investor. They have no clue what they are doing, constantly contradicting themselves. I bet he is not even a shareholder, no share, no skin in the game. Just making noise for no real reason.

Hilarious. Run-of-the-mill retail investor. You do not even know simple concept as price volatility and risk? Such concepts are even known to polytechnic students. Also, you think there is a chance Starhub will be paying an annual dividend of above $0.09? You have no clue what you are doing is it. What exactly is your investment strategy and framework? Singtel historical price VS Starhub historical price. https://www.tradingview.com/x/NeYctnPR/ Clearly, Singtel is a better option. Less risk and positive return. |

Simple reason - not enough money to get in then. There is no need to average down at $1.50. When I have more loose cash, I would average up for a bigger harvest. |

Singtel has a separate thread. You made money from shorting Starhub? ... you shorted at $1.49, then $1.50, $1.51... and patiently waiting for $1.40, then $1.25... |

Your need to improve your comprehension of English. When I say accumulate at $1.50, it can be anything +- $1.50, especially your $1.40, then $1.25, and most recently $0.90 from a day dreamer. I will buy a lorry load at $1.40, a bus load at $1.25 and a container load at $0.90. You keep taking about the above numbers, when huh? |

The Accumulation/Distribution indicator also shows steep decline showing a strong downtrend since 2018/6. The ADL has since stablise or slowed down considerably, But there could be more downsides? only time will tell. Just a reminder, any news we get as retail investors are obsolete. So stock movement usually price in these factors already, but they make calibrations on the way. |

Dividend cut is not a 1-2 month news, It has been announced since last year. The bottom line should be whether they managed to trim the net profit decline, and also show that they are able to keep their market share.
