Anyway, maybe the price was much higher last time. From industrial feedback, the revised price is favourable. They are looking fore expansion outside SG. I know they will likely be part of the SG 10Gb infrastructure plan. Just hope the DPU can grow every year. Wifi is now considered an essential commodity. So government will keep pressing down the price for the public' s good.

Seriously why the price is reduced while there is high inflation, salary increment, higher business cost? Is this fair and why does the company accept this term rather than reject it or renegotiate? This is a monopoly business but seems Management isnjust taking whatever IMDA is throwing at it.

Announcement is out. The current and revised prices for the Residential End-User Connection, Non-Residential End-User Connection, and Non-Building Address Point (&ldquo NBAP&rdquo ) Connection Services are shown below: Current Prices Revised Prices Residential EndUser Connection $13.80 -> $13.50 Non-Residential End-User Connection $55.00 -> $55.00 NBAP Connection $73.80 -> $70.50 The revised prices will take effect from 1 April 20241, and will not have a material impact on the distribution per unit and net tangible asset per unit of NetLink NBN Trust for the financial year ending 31 March 2024. My personal take  Price change is quite small especially for Residential If volume of new home in the pipeline for the next 5 years is as believed, the revenue should be more -> More distribution of income. |

Many of us have been unwilling to invest in NetLink NBN Trust due to the uncertainty over the regulatory review over the past year. I explored the question: Is the Protracted Regulatory Uncertainty an Opportunity? #dividendinvesting https://youtu.be/9kRUnc7y9FI |

On the other hand, if the company can capture the recent rise in govt yields in the allowable regulatory return for the next regulatory cycle then that would be a very big win.  | ||

Growing DPU is good (and not surprising), but what is key is the results of the regulatory review. I find it amazing (in a bad way) that (unless I am missing something) there is no written disclosure by the company at all as to timing.  | ||

NetLink&rsquo s H1 DPU up 1.1% to S$0.0265
FIBRE optic cable owner NetLink NBN Trust : CJLU +0.6% posted a distribution per unit of S$0.0265 for the half year ended Sep 30, 2023, a slight 1.1 per cent higher from S$0.0262 a year ago.

This came even as profit fell 3.1 per cent to S$52.9 million in H1, from S$54.6 million the previous year.

The decline in profit was primarily due to higher finance costs, depreciation and amortisation, and income tax expenses, NetLink&rsquo s trustee-manager said in a bourse filing on Friday (Nov 3).

Net finance costs, for instance, surged by 30.2 per cent to S$9.2 million in H1. Income tax expenses was S$563,000, reversing from a credit of S$841,000 a year prior.

Meanwhile, revenue inched up 2.9 per cent year on year &ndash or S$5.7 million &ndash to S$205.3 million.

Of the revenue increase, S$4.1 million came from regulated base (RAB) revenue, on the back of higher residential, non-residential, non-building address points (NBAP) and segment connections orders.
The remaining S$1.6 million came from non-RAB revenue, mainly contributed by installation-related and central office segments.

Overall, the trustee-manager highlighted that NetLink&rsquo s balance sheet and liquidity remain strong, underpinned by &ldquo stable cash flows and access to financial resources to support future capital expenditure&rdquo .

&ldquo Notwithstanding the increased funding and operation costs, the group expects to maintain its distribution to unitholders,&rdquo it added.

The manager noted that NetLink is well-positioned to benefit from the government&rsquo s plans to develop &ldquo future-ready broadband, mobile and Wi-Fi infrastructure&rdquo .

&ldquo We will provide our expertise and infrastructure to support (this)&hellip and continue to explore opportunities to invest in telecommunication infrastructure businesses overseas to broaden our portfolio.&rdquo

NetLink NBN Trust experiences &lsquo cybersecurity incident&rsquo

NETLINK NBN Trust said on Wednesday (Oct 25) that it had experienced a &ldquo cybersecurity incident&rdquo recently.

The incident did not affect fibre broadband connectivity, it added.

When contacted by The Business Times, the company would only refer to its announcement posted on the Singapore Exchange, which said that an analysis of the incident was ongoing, and that updates would be provided if there were material developments.

In its bourse announcement, the trust said it had taken immediate steps to contain and isolate the incident upon detection. It also engaged external cybersecurity experts to assist with the investigation and recovery.

The group has also notified the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore and the Info-communications Media Development Authority.

&ldquo Based on the information available to date, the incident has not had any material financial impact or caused any major disruptions to the group&rsquo s business,&rdquo it added.

Seems like no one is talking about this boring counter. 82 cents is a good price entry. Come november, collect another $0.026 cents of dividends. That is a full 3.17% dividend yield within 1 month. Better than T Bills or Fixed Deposit.  Of course, it is not 100% risk free like both but overall, still looks like a good short term counter. |

Haha yeah, humour is the best international language.
I have some at IPO & buying in dribs and drabs since then.
Yes, this is very good for dividends. After netting off all dividends, my average cost is 80.75cts.

Master beetlejuice, you sounds like a very humorous person and thanks for the response :). Mandrain direct translation can sound good or bad depends on how you wanna make it.  失 败 versus  四 百 or whatever you can imagine. Likewise beetlejuice could be  比 德 猪 versus 比 德 珠 which the latter sounds better. So better not to translate. Haha. Yes agree with all, IMDA will be the main catalyst and will park it aside when sky clears up, though tempting to buy some for dividend play stock. |

Haha, price will be range bound till IMDA regulatory review announcement or maybe exceptionally good or bad results announced in Nov. Other than these, it's an exceptionally boring stock as someone mentioned earlier.
But the dividend chart is very happening though. 💰 🧧
Btw, is Spiderkid related to Spiderman, aka 失 败 的 man in Singlish?🕸 ️ 🕷 ️ 😬 🃏

This stock has been range bounded since June hovering around 0.86, chart looks like it can go either way, a little more towards the upside. Has anyone got any insights for the next 3 months or so ?

No dilution unlike most other REITs/business trusts because a) no new shares issued as compensation to management, and b) no new shares issued to fund acquisitions. It may be the case that this is at least partly be due to the fact that Netlink NBN Trust is an internally managed entity in contrast to those REITs and business trusts that have external managers. An external manager model has a potential conflict of interest issue in that the manager is most incentivised to grow AUM whereas individual shareholders (should only) care about returns on a per unit basis. That is not to say all external managers are bad or that there are not acquisitions that are both AUM and returns-per-unit accretive. However, at least with Netlink NBN Trust this concern does not exist - management are clearly directly beholden to the company and its shareholders rather than a 3rd party. Similarly this may explain why management does not take compensation in the form of new shares: especially in the current market environment where share prices in the REIT/business trust space is trading below NAV, issuing new shares for management compensation purposes is value destructive for shareholders (and correspondingly value accretive for management). Yet this does not stop many managers in the SREIT/business trust space taking their comp in this way.   |

Safe return OF my money takes priority over potential return ON my money.
If your tilt is more towards wealth preservation, boring is good.
But if it's more towards wealth accumulation, then u need something more happening.

This is a boring stock, not much price movement. But 2019 annual report & 2023 annual report shows no issuing of new shares. No dilution unlike other reits.
