With a share capital of $1 million, the company&rsquo s sole owner is Bambang Sugeng bin Kajairi, a Singapore citizen.

I think when it comes to true failures, there is no way we can be careful or be selective and just with these two investing qualities, we can circumvent some complete failures like this. The only way with which we can circumvent is by diversifying our holdings.

If it' s me, I will take option 2. If I take option 1, retrieving 1.5K is negligible. I might as well take a chance with option 2, and continue hoping that I will be able to get back that 1.5K over several periods and at the same time : continue to believe that Hyflux can recover. This would be in-line with my belief in Hyflux earlier.

This was one instance I made a stupid mistake...was prompted to enter after hearing Hyflux being put on the pedestal by you-know-who.
Like many others, I had thought how wrong could this go??? Turned out also that the timing was horribly wrong, as shortly after came Gaddafi' s downfall, and 
hot on its heels, the Japanese tsunami/ Fukushima disaster. Who would have predicted these quick turn or events? 

Anyway, I have written this off my portfolio. I will hold on and wait till the cows come home...

I would  have thought that this is a safe stock, 
with Temasek as SSH at one stage.

One good practice is to keep some
$ in FD. You may get a very low  interest, 
but at least your principle  is safe.

If such listing does not occur within the two years, the additional payout will be S$50 million.

Lesson learned:

When a share losses 20% of its value
over time after buying, it is Red Alert.

If it continues to drop, SELL!

Hyflux was a $2.00 share in 2006.
It was $0.21 before suspension.

Assuming the NAV is $0.02 after the deal,
it is worth less than $7M.
