Agree. Innovation and creativity is the engine power for the company, without these comapny will not move Good management team is the  critical driver, with a capable team to execute, a company will lose its direction or even drop off the cliff! Hyflux CEO should have a more capable management team to improve its performance and manage its high-cost funds(debt & capitals) wisely and efficiently in projects & new products, rather than waste lot of precious funds  to  buy back shares at ridicule high price level.

If you are talking about the company sharebuy back program. Then you are mistaken probably. The percentage it declared for buy-back : Plenty of room for that to happen except we don' t know when.. sometimes it happen across a few years.

Low oil prices doesn' t help. This company is not running transport and there isn' t much significant benefits to its operational cost on low oil.  Its their prospective business customers.

BTW,  Net Asset Value, or NAV, is the sum total of the market value of all the shares held in the portfolio including cash, less the liabilities, divided by the total number of units outstanding as defintion you can find on the web.  In case of companies, the price of its share is ' as quoted on the stock exchange,' which apart from the fundamentals, is also dependent on the perception of the company' s future performance and the demand-supply scenario. And hence the market price is generally different from its book value. NAV doesn' t include the the projected confirmed income this company has stated in the FY2014 financial report. Neither does it include any further opportunities it has for the future. Therefore if you are waiting for the share price to drop to the NAV value, sometimes, you may be missing the boat. Just for your sharing.    Okay I am going for holiday soon. See you all guys when have time.

No matter what its the leader I felt. If you own this company 33.3% or more shares. You will work doubly hard for it. Plus, you must have the vision and directions on where you are heading.  Many times, I hv seen private companies that got listed and just there.. for the $$ nia. Not much motivations.

In spore, we seem to think we produce quality work n we are very atas.  The truth, as what I' ve often tought is that our lack of commitment is extremely high n that' s why I think we are prone to not making it in the longer term.  Just look at NOL ....

Yep, according to their latest financial result, NAV is 54.4.  I use Shareinvestor, which is owned by SPH that most reputable of media grps in spore.  N I used to think until now that their data are updated on time n professionally done.  Yet, I get this kind of crap.  So, for those of u who are Shareinvestor subscribers, n those being accosted to do so at exhibitions, please beware of this crap tool.  I think maybe I shall drop the SPH CEO a stinker.

Buy back? Dreaming!!! As Hyflux has only    left about $1.4 million quota to buy more  treasury shares, any futher buy backs will be insignificant!  Just look at its buy back report on 30 Nov, you will see it clearlly.

Totally agree with your view. In long run, low oil price will negatively affect the company' s profit margin  resulting from the byproduct of the new WTE plant for the time being,  low oil price should benefit the company  in form of  current cheap power, improving their perfromance by reducing operational cost. All in all, low oil price should have a mixed impact on the company. Currently, its impact is positive rather than negative.   Most importantly, share price reflects a company' s fundamental performance. If the fundamental keeps sliding dwon contineously, how to  support its share price not to slide down? I am a long-term supporter for Hyflux (since 2007) but can not help from being dissappointed at its performance of last 5-6 years. Really upset.

Not problem.  Pleasures. With oil prices escalating, you will see hyflux shares flying higher too  .
You can speak to any fund manager, they will be glad to explain to you. Provided, you must buy into their funds.

I think NAV > $1.00.  PUB buys desalinated water from them.  Waste collectors will pay them for waste disposal n on top of that, they get to sell the electricity generated from waste incineration.  Of course we hope their external wing will do well too.  So, all in all, my take is this stock is for the long term - wld probably become a strong div stock in time to come.

I' d say this, but it' s not for now cos the WTE plant probably is 4 yrs' time.  They' ll generate electricity as a byproduct of refuse incineration.  If oil px remains low (which I seriously doubt)  then, they will have to compete with the cheap producers in the electricity mkt to sell cheap n that' d compress their margins.  On the other hand, I think the desalination plant will continue to tap from the electricity pool for running the plant at least until TuasOne starts ops n the current oil px translating into cheap power shd benefit them. That' s my take.  I' m no engineer.  Only that I think when the new incineration plant comes on stream, this Hyflus wld probably be stronger financially n profitability w d improve.

High oil prices will benefit.  I can only tell you these, the rest you need to do some homework, if you are seriously interested in this counter

The pic you pasted is too bright to see! We  really wish Hyflux' s future woud not follow the steep downward  trendline of its fundamental performances in last 5-6 years.   You said " The shorting or worrying should be attributed to the oil price" . Why so?! We tought the cheap oil price should benefit Hyflux, not another way around?!
