Hymm .... what u said is logically correct. Not logical for strong fundamental kongsi to stay weak in price. Looking at its fundamentals, it was already quite strong in 2014, eps of 2.5cps, equiv mkt price peaked at that time ard $1.40. Its fundamental now in 2019 lagi stronger, eps ard 4.5cps, but mkt price at $0.325. Looks illogically incorrect leh, ... fundamentally stronger, but kena short to just ard 23% value. Since eps is almost double, the mkt price shd be ard $2.50. What is the kongsi going to do to correct this illogical shorting. Think kongsi is letting the price go down, so one of these gloomy days, announce TO by parent kongsi, (which already has 75% of the toal shares,) with a ' good' 10% premium to mkt price, meaning if now, the offer will be ard 36c, far short for the investors who bought during its dual offer in HK nearer to 50c(?). Just wishful thinking, while preparing my breakfast lah.

This one hard to move up lah, cos the coy hardly supports its price, even though it has buyback mandate. Though its fundamentals are far better than Silver Axis, it is way behind in market price. Look at SAL: nav 7.3c, cih 5.2, trailing pe 14.2, trailing eps 3.0c. Mkt price 43 And CEWL: nav 52c, cih 10.8c, trailing pe 7.3, trailing eps 4.5c. Mkt price 32.5 only, tho CEWL is far better than SAL in all those areas. Difference, SAL gives div every quarter, coy buyback to support price, latest buyback tdy 675.4 lots. Kongsi rewards shareholders by giving back most of its earning in the form of qtrly div. CEWL profits are mostly kept for expansion, imo, tho it recently begins to give half yearly div, but still too little lah compared to its good earnings qtr after qtr, tho slightly better than previously when div was distributed annually. No wonder shortists keep suppressing the price, cos if kongsi don' t buyback to support, who can stand against the shorties?

Silver Axis gives qtrly div even its profit is declining in their latest qtrly report. That' s y it is still trading > 40. UMS lagi better, shot > 90. What qtrly does CEWL give - nothing. Their profit increase is really good, check their report, ext: " Profit attributable to equity holders of the Company increased by 27% yoy to HKD183 million. Earnings per share grew by HKD0.011 yoy to HKD0.065. As at 30 September 2019, gearing ratio stood at approximately 56%, demonstrating the Company' s reasonable debt level and good financial position..." What more can investors ask, other than to reward them with qtrly div like what UMS and Silver do lah. Sad to say, CEWL more keen in their never ending expansion, winning major projects after projects, for the bosses to announce proudly the qtrly profit increase, awards in this and that major projects, etc. etc. Shorties know kongsi don' t give qtrly div, so can whack and whack the price down.

Others like UMS can move whenever qtrly result and div announced, this limping cina stock cannot move cos kongsi no div announced, even tho result is so very good.

What news are u looking for? Result already out during lunch break, result very good, imo. News? Nothing, no 3Q div, just like b4. Got to wait for the net qtr lah. That' s y still limping as it tries to move.
