The bulk of the gains Wednesday came after a Chinese state media report signaled support for Chinese stocks. U.S. and Chinese regulators are progressing toward a cooperation plan on U.S.-listed Chinese stocks, the report said, citing a financial stability meeting Wednesday chaired by Vice Premier Liu He.

The report said Beijing supported Chinese stock listings overseas, and would work towards stability in Hong Kong&rsquo s financial market as well as the struggling real estate sector.

 Alert Admin 		some said the drop in share prices are due to ukraine war.
i think directly not likely, however indirectly due to actions against russian origin richie have cause them to shift their money to safer location from confiscation or freeze etc.
surely when they sell their banks will have to sell something to satisfy they demand for cash.
the reaction to sanction in russia on foreign investment can also cause institutions affected to sell profitable trade else where to bump up profit to cover losses.
all these so called santions are double edge sword. no one do a trade out of charity. buyers buy goods from russia to satisfy a need. not give money as charity to russia. so sanction will hurt both buyers and sellers. those hurt will have to try to cover it with something.

 Alert Admin 		share buy backs are comfort to share holders as there will be some support to the share price.
share buy backs seldom results in pushing up the share price as evident by many business conducting buy back but share price remains about the same. in a recent case it may even be part of reason  for the business to fail as the cash was used to do buy back instead of using as liquidity to run the business. using part of profit with additional cash flow is always a happy event for sharehodlers but not if the business has to raise cash from more borrowing. or if the business has huge debt.
