Soon Lian Holdings is the latest victim in a recent spate of ransomware attacks.

 

The company announced the news on the evening of July 3, hours after fellow SGX-listed company Hiap Seng Industries said that it was the subject of a recent ransomware incident.

 

According to Soon Lian, the group took &ldquo immediate action&rdquo to &ldquo identify, contain and address&rdquo the &ldquo incident&rdquo .

 

The attack was also reported to the relevant authorities including the Singapore Police Force, the Personal Data Protection Commission, and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore. Investigations into the Incident are currently ongoing.

 

The group said there has been no significant impact to its business operations and that it activated its business continuity plan immediately after.

 

&ldquo Based on preliminary investigations of the incident, neither the group nor its external experts have observed any evidence of data exfiltration,&rdquo says Soon Lian in its statement.

 

On June 19, food and beverage (F& B) company YKGI YK9 0.00% reported that its customer relationship management system was hacked. The system was operated by an external vendor. YKGI YK9 0.00% is the operator of Yew Kee Duck Rice and bubble tea outlet Chicha San Chen.

 

On May 23, Jumbo Group 42R 0.00% reported that it was the victim of a ransomware attack. At the time, the group also announced that no evidence of data exfiltration was found.
