SATS used to be like SIA eng with a big chuck of shares controlled by SIA, after   SIA distribute SATS it share price rebound and rises to present height. Sg MRO monopoly business between ST aerospace abd SIA eng, with terminal 5 coming in 2020 that meant more business for SIA eng, ST aerospace and SATS.

However, there is increasing competition from neighbouring countries which also have huge MRO ambitions and lower labour costs. Therefore, a Singapore-owned Global MRO Powerhouse will likely be welcomed and facilitated by Temasek Holdings which owns 50% of ST Engineering and 55% of Singapore Airlines Limited (Singapore Airlines in turn owns 78% of SIA Engineering).
