Now the SGX has given approval for a share issue, but the share issue itself has not been agreed with underwriters. Why? This is the opposite of how things are normally done, which is to launch the issue subject to approval, in order not to spook the market. |

Management not very good at corporate finance. Market knows there is a rights issue coming due to their Australia acquisition so puts pressure on the share price. They should have launched the rights issue on the day of announcing the deal. |

The other issue about this deal is that it is in Australia. KIT do not have a good record there remember Basslink? Does KIT really want to risk a repeat? | ||||

Actually they are already buidling an MRT system since before pandemic. But this system is predominantly in the CBD to redirect traffic to their existing rail network. So No, there will not be extensive MRT to the surburbs as the existing rail network is deemd good enough. I just came back from Melbourne. I think the Bus system has a good future there, as I cannot see them building a underground MRT system due to their building infrastructure and historical buildings. Unlike crowded urban modern cities like in SG and Asia.

If they had presented it better in the materials they released when announcing the deal then perhaps the market price would have reacted more positively, and people would not need to ask these questions. But sure I will (have to) ask this at the AGM. |
