Venture Corp warns investors about analysts&rsquo reports in general corporate update
Venture Corporation has asked investors to &ldquo carefully assess&rdquo analysts&rsquo reports about the group, in a general corporate update.
In a June 23 filing, the group alleged that the reports have forecast its outlook &ldquo without proper basis and on incomplete information&rdquo . It added that its stakeholders should instead refer to its announcements listed on the SGX and on corporate websites.
The group will provide its next financial update and 12-month outlook during its results for the 1HFY2021 scheduled for early August.
In the same statement, Venture reiterated its established track record in its research and development (R& D) capabilities, well-integrated Clusters of Excellence and &ldquo extensive and deep expertise in diverse and complex technology domains&rdquo .
&ldquo These platforms propel Venture to forge and strengthen long-term partnerships with leading industry collaborators worldwide,&rdquo writes the group in the statement.
It adds that its collaborations with its key global customers and partners have positioned the group well to enhance its value propositions and expand its participation into new adjacent technology domains.
&ldquo Our long-term collaboration in the Lifestyle Consumer Electronics domain saw the successful development and launch of various products over the past several years. A new series of next-generation devices in this domain have been developed by Venture and plans are afoot to launch these products in the second half of 2021,&rdquo reads the statement.
The corporate update also thanked its staff for their &ldquo competency, resourcefulness and resiliency&rdquo during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The group adds that continues to implement joint initiatives with various stakeholders to manage its global supply base in view of the ongoing lack of supplies for parts and components.

Philip Morris beats profit, revenue expectations as IQOS strength helps offset cigarette shipment declinesPublished: April 20, 2021 at 7:15 a.m. ETShares of Philip Morris International Inc. PM, +0.36% eased 0.2% in premarket trading, even after the cigarette seller reported first-quarter profit and revenue that beat expectations, as growth in heated tobacco units shipments helped offset declines in cigarette shipments. Net income rose to $2.42 billion, or $1.55 a share, from $1.83 billion, or $1.17 a share, in the year-ago period. Excluding nonrecurring items, adjusted earnings per share came to $1.57, above the FactSet consensus of $1.40. Net revenue rose 6.0% to $7.59 billion, beating the FactSet consensus of $7.27 billion. Cigarette shipments fell 7.3% to 145.51 billion units, with Marlboro shipments dropping 9.4% to 53.68 billion units, while heated tobacco unit shipments rose 29.9% to 21.73 billion units. " This performance was driven by the continued strength of IQOS, in particular, reflecting excellent user, volume and market share momentum, as well as further progress with manufacturing and operating cost efficiencies," said Chief Executive Andre Calantzopoulos. " Our results also benefited from the timing of specific factors, notably associated with shipments in certain markets and the phasing of commercial investments, which are expected to partially reverse in the second quarter." The company expects 2021 adjusted EPS of $5.95 to $6.05, compared with the FactSet consensus of $5.96. The stock has rallied 10.7% year to date through Monday, while the S& P 500 SPX, -0.05% has gained 10.8%. |
