Yes, but the company is too often used as an acquisition vehicle - look at the number of corporate actions. minority shareholders help provide ' cheap loans' and see their holdings diluted in spite of the dividends | ||

2 main criteria in my stock pick: 1. profitability 2.. valuation As a norm i go for companies showing profit growth and are trading below a forward P/E of 10. Dividend will be a bonus. Other considerations are .. cash, debt, cashflow, nta, potential for future growth, n of course the management of the company. Anothr consideration is the type of industry the company is in .. sunset(?) or ... In my analysis Serial System meet the 2 most important criteria. It also declares dividend every year, though the dividend declared fluctuates. Its nav is 19.8 cts. Revenue has grown from US$820 mil in 2012 to US$1.4 bil. In S$ .. the revenue is close to S$2 bil. The main set back for this company is the low net profit margin after tax. However the company has been profitable for the last 5 years with profits fluctuating between US$4.5 mil to US$16.1. The lower profit were in year 2015 n early 2016 ... due mainly to impairments n consolidation/restructuring of companies after a period of acquisition of a few companies. Looking at the latest 3 quarter results, the profit for current is likely to be very good .. excellent. Dividend is expected to be better than previous year. Just sharing ... above are just my views and no guarantee that its right. Do not buy what you are uncomfortable with. |

Not misleading. You are expected to do your own due diligence. I am sharing within this forum companies which show growth in profits and companies i deemed under-valued with the hope that fellow forumers may benefit from it. Profit growth is one of the main criterias in my stock picks. Others may have other criterias n that fine with me. Of course i do take into considerations other criterias ... cash, debt, nta, dividend, potential for future growth, cashflow etc. I do not post based on rumours or hearsays or speculative stocks or companies with negative cash flow or over valued etc etc End of the day each have to make his/her own choice/decision. But misleading? certainly not. Anyway, i respect your view(s).

9M ' 17 profit ... US$9.2 mil FY ' 16 profit ... US$4.6 mil 9M profit is double that of last year full year. Just sharing ... not a call to buy or sell. Vested

Agreed. However, Can' t cross 185 in the last few months .... and support usually come in around 165. Suggestion is to go long at 165/170 ... hopfully by Q42017 result plus listing Serial Semi-com (HK), can boost the price above 200.
