Palm Oil is at historical high if you look back last few years. The Central Kitchens with the covids lockdowns are not good projects as reflected in last quarter dismal performances. Commodity trading firms are making huge profits from the commodity up cycle.   |

There is a need for Wilmar to balance against share buybacks with capital positions to finance the commodities trading business
Commodities prices has all gone up and higher capital requirements are needed to take position Wilmar regular sells commodities in excess of their production. This goes to show they are actively buying and selling

From 6 Jan 2021 to 16 June 2021, Co bought back 14,494,600 shares at average price of $5.08 amounted to $73.6 million From 5th May 2022 to 14 June 2022, Co bought back 20,756,300 shares at average price of $4.23 amounted to $87.7 million 12th April 2022, SSH sold 2.3 million shares at 4.59 amounted to $10.6 million Co sharebuyback for ytd 2022 less the SSH' s sale is S$3.5 million more. Average price of share bought back in 2022 is $4.23 vs $5.08 in 2021.  If previous year, Co could aggressively bought back at $5.08, then the Co could buy significantly more at the current average price of $4.23.. which assuming that the management busily chasing good projects would value the present Co' s value as substantially higher than prior year.. after all COP prices are on the uptred yoy, quarter per quarter.   |

can do buy back means got money. as log as money is from portion of profit to bb it is a good move. palm oil price has stayed above $5000 since stsrt of the year. price has stayed above $6000 since mid feb. wilmar price has not moved much. downstream has lagging effect of passing on price increased.  down stream has already started adjusting price upward. downstream price will be more sticky once adjusted. so in the comming reporting periods, profit will be better., cash flow may be worse (due to more money needed to hold higher cost inventory)   |

On 26th Feb 2021, Co bought back 5,000,000 (not 500,000) shares at high of 5.32 and low of 5.28 (not 4.13) tepitd -- unable to focus on enhancing shareholder value still chasing good projects in China.. where ithey are going to be affected from the zero covids and lockdowns.

On 12th April, 2022 SSH sold 2,308,800 shares at $4.59 Let see whether the Company will conduct more aggressive share buyback to enhance the shareholders value. Recent purchases are half hearted (management busy chasing good projects).. as compared to the aggressive buying in 1st half 2021.. both in volume and average buyback price. " Wilmar International led the Q1 2021 consideration tally, buying back 8,141,700 shares in the quarter at an average price of S$5.29." |

Wilmar is now steadily doing share buyback this whole week by aggressively parking buy queues to stop the price from falling.
This is despite them saying they have good projects to look at. Seems like management is doing both now. The central kitchen project is expanding and their investment in Adani Wilmar continues to grow bigger |

Should follow this Company in enhancing shareholder value...    Chasing so called good projects with dismal returns.. and resulting in this lame reason of having no time (no resources?) to take actions to priortize shareholder value as if the Co has no management resources and everyone is chasing after good projects? " Yangzijiang Financial Holding has allocated $200 million for its share buy-back programme, following mandate given by shareholders. At an EGM held on June 8, 99.81% of the shareholders& rsquo votes were in favour of the mandate. & ldquo The purpose of the programme is to increase Shareholders& rsquo value and improve the return of equity of the group,& rdquo the company says." " Besides share buybacks, the company& rsquo s directors, including CEO Vincent Toe (picture) had made open market purchases of the company& rsquo s shares." At least this Co goes for 10% of its ordinary issued share capital. |

On 7th June 2022, Co bought back 66,300 shares at $4.15 amounting to $275,469.22 Contrast with 16th June 2021 (last year) it bought 2,500,000 shares at 4.67 amounting to $11,638,682.64 or 2021 26th Feb , bought back 5,000,000 shares at high of $5.32 amounting to $26,529,688 This attests the analyst report in SG. investor.io: " During the Q& A session at the AGM on 21 Apr 22, management in reply to questions on strategy to unlock shareholder value mentioned that there are several options for Wilmar to unlcok shareholder value, which includes ..buying back shares..  But Wilmar is not actively pursuing any of these options becasue it si now busy with many good projects in China, Indonesia..." Really.. a big Corporation cannot do two things at one time... China the good projects yielding dismal results in the recent quarters... eroding shareholders' value. |
