 Alert Admin 		Oceanus has a lot more outstanding shares issued now than it did in 2009, so reaching at 0.40 price target will mean a significantly higher market capitalisation now.  I don' t have the exact number of outstanding shares for 2009 so can' t comment on price per share.  That being said, I don' t agree we should use market capitalisation as a metric to limit Oceanus' s success.

I am also not sure if there was a rights issue back then.  Very likely.  But I know quite a few debtors were restructured into shareholders back in 2017 (source:  https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/oceanus-shareholder-acquires-significant-stake-from-creditor-group-in-married-deal).  This is what helped removed the debt overhang on the company.

Yes i do understand and read up a lot on this too and thus i come to realise this Q, Yes and no i think, cause if we can compare it apple to apple then current price with new management   should out do old management isn' t it? So if we can get the numbers and compare it to then, isn' t current price which is a good sign that it is still Low compare to then? And also with new management and new direction and new good earning, all the more it should,will and would be breaking the old price point then Teo bo?   And if what i mention is legitimate then 0.020 and 0.40 is just a matter of time and with current 0.075 there' s still tons of room and the sky the limit when it exit the watch list, make sense?  

And why no, when the old company was in debts did they did a rights issues? Not too sure. SGX in 2009 and now isn' t the same too what could had happen then likely not able to happen too often again now ie Blumont and liongold. And inflation cost, economic then and now cannot be compare too i do understand and also understand counters are speculative, manipulative and sentimental regardless of counter and if there is no buyer or bb no matter how lucrative or well manage it will also be crawling only....

And thus i thought by using numbers of its financial report then and now would speak vol of its potential and future...

It would not be meaningful to compare the old management back in 2009 to the current team, as Oceanus back then is very very different from Oceanus today.  Back then, its main revenue stream was very heavily solely dependent on abalone breeding.  A natural disaster that occurs in China can severely damage their farms, causing huge financial damages (go read about it!).

The CEO Peter Koh and the current management team realised that vulnerability, and has laboured across the years to ensure Oceanus is no longer a " one-revenue stream company" .  It was simply not sustainable, and too risky for her shareholders.  Instead of breeding abalones directly, Oceanus began to focus on leasing the farms out, isulating them from natural disasters and any black swan events.  In addition, a lot of effort was put in to establish the 4 income channels: Aquaculture, Distribution, Services and Innovation.  Each of these channels are growing even bigger.  This ensures that even if any one of the income streams get hit, Oceanus is still able to sail strongly and weather the storm.   

I know there are many old hodlers of Oceanus, who lost money in the past.  I am truly sorry to hear that.  But if you' re still holding, know that Oceanus today is not the same abalone company as before.  Oceanus is heading to become a leader in the agricultural space in Deep Tech, which should be comforting because with tech, the sky is the limit.  I hope where Oceanus is going will not only help you recoup your losses, but more than cover your opportunity cost in lost time.  A lot of work has been put in during the " clean-up" phase to position Oceanus now for the next three years of " tech-up" .  Right now, it is simply an open invitation for everyone to join the ride and reap the rewards from the hard work the management team has put in.

Warren Buffet has famously taught that we should consider our investments as though we can only make 20 investments in our lifetime.  I am proud to say Oceanus is one of my 20.

I am very long Oceanus, and see any price retracement as natural and healthy in an overall general trend upwards.  Whatever your long entry price is, I am confident we can all share in the success of Oceanus over the next 3 years

 Alert Admin 		its quite a nom for day or short term trading when an counter is on a up trending and acquire more attention, ppl can say gain is thining, spreading out or slowing down. But if u are in for a longer time and your entry lets say for example is 6 series then why worry if u are see a new baseline is forming at 7 or 8 and gg up? U will worry if there isn' t a new baseline forming when u are a day trader and for long term investor u will be brighten up and adding bit by bit along the way if it goes up and dip slightly.... make sense?  It been a penny counter as it is now there would be more investors now then traders cause we are already in, but however as it gets bigger, there is bound to be more traders now then investors. But when the Q4 and exit arrived it will change again, this cycle never change regardless of it gg up or down

To me, the article is using Technical Analysis (TA) to ?judge? a company. That is not wrong. But I would not use TA for a company like Oceanus. Investors nowadays invest based on future prospects. iFast is overvalued, but investors still invest in it. Why? Because they see future potential in it. There are many companies out there with high valuations. NanoFilm, Tesla, QuantumScape (No product in market and already worth billions), all overvalue but there is still investors willing to pay that price for it. If you look at what is the hype nowadays, that would be Bitcoin blockchain mining stocks. Companies like SOS have not even mined a single Bitcoin but is worth $11/share based on future prospects. Companies like CAN, jumped 40-50% last Friday because of future prospects of Bitcoin.

Honestly, if investors can only buy into a stock based on the CORRECT P/B P/E ratio of that company, then what is the point of opening the stock market. Might as well halt the whole stock market and only open it days before the companies results are out, because apparently, we can only invest with the CORRECT P/B P/E ratio of that company. Why can t investors invest because of future prospects? Is it wrong?

I see Oceanus with tons of future potential even if TA says otherwise. What are your thoughts?

I try to search but couldn' t get much. Dun quite understand why the neg and nan abt it when it just reach 2012 point and only reach 1/5 of 2009. Can some kind soul share some light?

The conversion price is 0.9 cent 1.1 cent or 1.2 cent? Different sources give different conversion, I do not know which to follow.

This will be my view on Oceanus Group and why I think it is still currently  bullish. Please take my opinions with a pinch of salt and do your own due diligence.


Bullish Opinion

1. Oceanus Group recently received a query from SGX because of their 11% increase in price movement and to which, Oceanus Group replies to being unaware of any possible reasons that might cause the price surge. However, based on my limited time in research, I have come up with these 3 potential reasons.

Bullish Graph 
If we look at Oceanus Group' s graph, we can see that there is 2 strong support forming at $0.062 and $0.067. With such a strong support forming and investors consolidating, it tends to spark up with any positive news.

Joey Choy Analysis
Joey Choy from Philip Securities posted a video on 2 SG Penny Stocks that are below $0.20 with more uptrend potential. Those 2 SG Penny Stocks are Oceanus Group and Jiutian Chemical. With Joey Choy' s reputation as Singapore' s renowned mentor and as one of the Top Tier Remisiers and Trader, he might have some influence through his analyst.

Terenece Cao Partnering
Terence' s home-based F& B business sets up Mee Siam delivery and partners with nine Singaporean farms to sell their produce on its site. The first of these being Oceanus Group' s abalone.

2. Since 2018, Oceanus Group has constantly generated  increasing profits year after year.  The amazing growth of  200% - 300%  per year due to their strategize 4 pillars of growth. Gaining revenue from 4 different sectors, Aquaculture, Distribution, Services, and Innovation. Their latest revenue between 2019 to Q1-Q3 2020, shows an increase of 305%. ( Exponential revenue and earnings growth )

3. As CEO Peter Koh joins Oceanus Group in 2014, he managed to turn the company around from being  heavily in debt to absolutely no debt  by 2017. This allows Oceanus Group to achieve their first ' Clean' audit opinion in Nine Years. This could only be done after successfully resolving all legacy issues that have caused disclaimer of opinions from its auditors between FY2011 to FY2017.

4. Seeing Oceanus Group' s growth potential, former  Minister Yaccob Ibrahim joins Oceanus Group as an independent director  and invested in the company in 2020. With former Minister Yaccob Ibrahim involvement in the company, Oceanus Group will indefinitely move faster and stronger forward with his skills and knowledge in his sector.

5. Oceanus Group has plans to  apply out of SGX watchlist  in April 2021 after auditing their FY2020 results. The result on whether they have successfully exited out of SGX watchlist will be announced in Q3/4 2021. Looking at how Oceanus Group has progressed over the years and their confidence in applying out of SGX watchlist, I feel there will be positive news in Q3/4 2021.

6. Because of the pandemic crisis in 2020, it was a nudge for many companies. Oceanus Group realizes that they will need to evolve from past practices to survive the pandemic and so they did. They have been constantly innovating since 2015. This allowed Oceanus Group to continue to grow revenue and profit even in 2020. The journey has only just begun, especially as they kickstart their 3-year plan of Tech-Up phase.

An exciting project that Oceanus has was their  Aquapolis City project  with 2 other companies, Shaw Investment Holdings, and China Construction Seventh Engineering Division. The project was created to tackle food security concerns from governments around the world. It is a sea-based hi-tech aquaponics farm that aims to be the solution to food security and safety in Singapore and beyond. Although Oceanus Group has not released any updates or progress of the Aquapolis project, I hope to hear more about it in their 3-year tech-up phase.

7. Oceanus Group is set to  release its Q4 2020 earnings  report in February. I am confident that their earnings report will be good as having a good consistent financial profit year over year is one of the criteria to be able to apply out of SGX watchlist.

8. I came upon Oceanus Market Depth data while researching and noticed something interesting. The amount of shares at the sell queue is decreasing over time compared to when it was priced at $0.03. When the share price was at $0.03, the selling volume was at close to 40-50 million shares, and as of 19/02/2020, the share price at $0.076 was around 20-30 million shares. I am not sure about you, but this tells me that many Oceanus Group supporters are holding on to their shares because they believe in the company.


Investment

Oceanus Group in 2020 has been making strategic investments towards the food-tech space. Investment such as:

1. Investment in Universal Aquaculture for Deep Tech Indoor Prawn breeding.

Upcoming Near-term key Catalyst

1.  Q4 2020 Results. The Q4 2020 results will be released this coming February and in my opinion, it will no doubt be great as compared to the previous quarter.

2.  Exiting from SGX watch-list. Based on the profitability achieved in Q1-Q3 2020, Oceanus is on track to fulfill the condition to exit from SGX watch-list. This is an upgrade of confidence from SGX as it is loosening its reporting requirement for Oceanus.

3.  Exponential revenue and earnings growth from Season Global. Since establishing Season Global JV in Jan 2020, the revenue of Oceanus Group has grown significantly. In Q1-Q3 2020, Oceanus Group' s revenue grew by 626% year over year ( +276% quarter over quarter ) and made a turnaround from a loss to profit. 

4.  Further expansion of aquaculture businesses. The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the demand for many major cities to build their own food supplies. The could open up more opportunities for Oceanus to deploy its food tech hubs in key cities across China, ASEAN, and the Middle East.


Bearish Opinion

Of course, there will definitely be some bearish opinions as there is bullish.

1. Oceanus Group' s valuation is a whopping $1.822 billion as of this writing. Its share price is at $0.075 on 19/02/2020 closing. 

2. Oceanus Group' s P/B ratio is at 76.27x as compared to its fair value and price relative to the market.

Based on the above numbers, Oceanus Group is overvalued as compared to other counters such as First Resources Ltd, Bumitama Agri Ltd, and Indofood Agri Resources Ltd to name a few. However, I would not use these numbers to value Oceanus Group as it is a growth company. We invest based on how we see the company' s future, and from how I see it, Oceanus Group is en route to greater growth and earnings with strong fundamentals that are built since 2014.

It depends on the timing.  As I posted below, there is not much time for correction if good news is knocking on the door.  Maybe it will rise till the good news effects taper off.

 Alert Admin 		Anyone has any inside how the company was doing when the old management was doing in 2009 when the price was at its height @0.40? And is current management doing better? So at least can compare. I try to search but couldn' t get much. Dun quite understand why the neg and nan abt it when it just reach 2012 point and only reach 1/5 of 2009. Can some kind soul share some light?
