I mean I can' t put my money down just on such thinking. Neither should anyone use their savings to buy just because they " think" the management is sound.    Thinking must be backed by figures. Worse still never think it is safe because GIC bought in, actually they have a lot of money so a little loss won' t hurt them, but smaller companies will be hit.

If they reduce to 15%, it seems okay, but who will take up the 45% GLP bought?  And would it be at the price they paid?    It' s all so puzzling and not clear at all.      I wonder if this is the reason ppl sell down.      However, knowing GLP, they are smart enough to cut a good deal.      But I can put my money down just on such thinking, there' s gotta be figures.

Therefore, what price GLP buys the properties from Blackstone is important to us retailers.

GLP is a hot favourite with fund managers, hence we all need to do our sums properly and know where the direction is going.  Coz these funds won' t dump for no reason.  I' m not saying they are dumping,  I  just see the downward trend of GLP as something that could happen if funds are getting out possibly due to China events, Japan, or the GLP buy in to US mkt by  joining with  GIC to buy properties from Blackstone.   However,  funds are not always right.      If I remember correctly, the last quarter results for GLP was not so good.  Top line was okay, but I think there were extraordinary items arising from currency losses due to sale to their reits or something like that.  In Japan, they buy a property, build it up nicely to ISO standard wharehouse, then they sell it to a reits.    The idea is to use the property for their logistics biz, but at the same time hive off the risk of property price fluctuations to reits holders.      I think China they can' t do it, they hv another model of leasing if I am not wrong.    For US, they could possibly adopt the model they use in Japan.

Agree.  Any write up on this investment in US?      What price they buy from Blackstone is also impt.    GIC tends to overpay in their enthusiasm in the past.

Please note that GLP INITIAL investment in US is 60% with GIC taking 40%....BUT this will be down to 10% for GLP by Jul 15. ( If I am not wrong with their report) ..spelling their confident of selling off the 50% to other investor. the main market is certainy for industry and this portion of internet logistic serving US market is big too. Whatever, GLP is now having all 4 legs of a table in China, Japan, USA and Brazil.....the growth in China is very strong with partner. Chart aside ( short term movement if anything) ....the long term is good with GLP How to find another well managed, healthy  logistic company with P/BV of below 1.2 ? Happy investing :))

Just wait and pick up when the price goes lower.    No doubt, it' s a downward price trend, looking at the chart, but a gravestone doji appeared.  Price reversal may occur but it' s  not a confirmed buy signal yet due to the downward trend established over  time.   P/B is 1.07 presently, if price drops any further going below 1, this stock could be a bargain to buy for mid to long term. I still don have a grasp of their investment in US mkt, whether it will lead to losses or gains both immediate and long term.      I think it' s commercial and industrial property sector, like warehouse, etc but don have a gd idea, definitely won' t be residential they are buying.  As for GIC, we really cannot assume anything they buy is safe, they hve made serious mistakes in the past.    This kind of investment need business minded ppl, not academics or scholars. As for China and Jpn mkt, GLP is set to reap gains as transportation costs get cheaper, it will have a spin off effect on consumer goods turnover, therefore GLP being in the logistics sector  servicing internet companies  will be an essential piece.    To dig gold, you need the spades, and GLP provides the latter. |

2.5 is a crucial support level, which is broken. next resistance is at 2.33 ( based off 3CQ2012 period). There will def be a technical rebound near 2.48/2,49, which determines if it drops down to 2.33 or break 2.5. On a long term basis, i will still accumulate. All the best guys.

UOBKH issues technical sell:- Global Logistic Properties (GLP SP, MC0) Technical SELL with 19.9% potential returns Last price: S$2.41 Target price: S$1.93 Protective stop: S$2.60 We maintain our previous technical SELL with a lower target price of S$1.93 (previously S$2.30 mentioned on 11 Dec 14) with stops placed at S$2.60. The stock has traded below S$2.48, which appears to be an important support level then. A top formation could have formed. Watch the stock to see if it could test S$2.30 first as both the daily and weekly MACD indicator and histogram are below its centreline. Expected timeframe: 3 month |

It will probably fall further, chart not looking good at all, just my two cents. I think better to keep your ammo during these bearish times, waiting to buy GLP when the chart looks better.... |
