SATS is so much more solid than SIA. No rights issue. In fact, if u factor in the rights issue cum MCBs, SIA price is lower than SATS. So Sparrow999, SIA is 💩 💩 💩 | ||||

SIA will surely be around, long time to come. whether it generates positive returns or signifcant returns (think pre covid EPS) remains to be seen. with massive dilution, more debt and repayments, dividend yields if any, will be very depressed at least for the next 5 years SIA bonds can buy, SIA shares cannot buy

If TH comes out with money, it must be in return for additional new shares via rights subscription. Hence the dilution to existing shareholders. Not sure how much the aircraft sell-and-leaseback strategy can help SIA avoid seeking further funds from shareholders. Also not sure how much the vaccine hubbing and distribution business can help SIA.

company run by poor management who lacked foresight even before covid struck, SIA struggled to generate growing profits mostly based on a y-o-y basis when we look at the past 8-10 yrs for e.g pathetic track record in fuel hedge bets for many years now they burn through cash so quickly..how many months has it been only? lets not talk about profitability for now it would take at least 3 to 6 months in the best case scenario for SIA to resume more flights and break even till then, how much more cash is going to be depleted? and this is already best case scenario its either more debts or more dilution, none of which is positive  better counters out there with more potential upside and less potential downsides all e best |

My Correct Predictions 1) SIA $4 in short term 2) Vaccine out in Dec 2020 3) Convertible bonds issue at $4.25 n above        4) SIA share price will surpass SATS share price by a huge gap 5) SIA support at $4.30 6) FDA approve  Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on 12 Dec 2020 My Wrong Predictions 1) SIA $5 by year end (Highest SIA goes is $4.77) 2) HK Travel bubble to resume in 22 Nov 2020 (Morning Annoucement say Go, Afternoon then say postpone) Future prediction        1) Aviation fully recover by end of 2021 2) Billionaire whom sold aviation shares previously will buy back in near future  |

No worries, this drop of share price is already observed in TA. SIA still holding very well at $4.30.I don' t see the news will impact SIA much. Sadly speaking $5 by year end will not arrive, bcos year end too many holidays, BB in relax mode now Jan 2021 should see SIA moving up, by then BB will wake up from winter hypernation |

SIA has used up 80% of S$8.8b raised from rights issue
Carrier has option to issue more mandatory convertible bonds to raise up to S$6.2b

SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) has used approximately S$7.1 billion of the S$8.8 billion raised from a rights issue in June, it said in a filing to the Singapore Exchange on Monday.

Between Oct 14 and Dec 13, the flag carrier spent a further S$900 million of the gross proceeds from the rights issue. Of this amount, S$500 million was used to fund ongoing operating expenses, S$200 million went towards refunding tickets sold on flights which have been cancelled in view of continuing border controls and travel restrictions, and S$200 million was applied towards debt servicing.

Its last update on the use of proceeds from the rights issue was made in mid-October, when SIA said it had spent S$1.8 billion over about two months. The amount was used for ongoing operating expenses, ticket refunds and debt servicing.

In addition to the funds raised during the rights issue, SIA said it has raised for FY2020/21 a total of S$2.1 billion through loans secured on its aircraft and a short-term unsecured loan, S$850 million through a convertible bond issue and S$500 million via a private placement of new 10-year bonds.

It has access to approximately S$2.1 billion of lines of credit available for drawing, and has the option to issue additional mandatory convertible bonds to raise up to S$6.2 billion if the crisis prolongs.
