yah, guess geo will trade up 56-60c within this 2 weeks, if not by this week. with current m42 at 60usd, and based on FY25 production volume of 12.5mil tons and cost of 34.10usd per ton, the annual profit is 324usd. what a huge difference in earnings: selling price per ton now is 60usd compared to 46.1in FY25. with middle east oil and gas in limbo, countries affected will rush to buy thermal coal. bbs in sgx also accumu, when their kakias suppress. just opnn, dyodd. not forgetting hiway testing implementing this month april.

Agreed. Play contra then better don't play. They are depressing the prices. Just like yesterday, it was expected to close at 54 but last few seconds someone tried to close their positions and sold off at 53.5 for 100+ K shares.

m42 thermal coal remains strong, unaffected by iran us ceasefire. it actually improves slightly to 59.23usd, a day after ceasefire.. based on future chart, 2027 will even be higher at 63. geo shd be otw to bil usd kelab soon, when all money making projects complete in 2 mths or so. geo shd return to 55-56c by 2molo, if not tdy. but not suggesting contra bystanders to jump in. just opnn, dyodd. |

Positives for Geo: 1. Coal price likely elevated for 1-2 years as some LNG facilities are damaged during the war. We also cannot expect the same flow of LNG as before the war. Asia countries will continue to switch to coal as it is cheaper. 2. Indonesia government has announced increasing production quota to captive the increased demand for coal and the increased tax revenues due to elevated coal price. Increased production will benefit MBJ infrastruture. 3. Additional revenue from MBJ to start flowing in from July 2026. 4. Additional revenue from the acqired shipping business. 5. Newly acquired coking coal mine in Kalimantan. They should announce plans soon how they develop this mine to start extracting coal. |
