There was an official announcement and not a speculation. Temasek needs to acquire 30.5% or at least 550million shares in this regards.

Further its T who set the condition .....W covid any company is not expect to do well ....not just for Q2. For whole of 2020 So I expect T to amend the clause when needed. Dont see it any issue esp T is a long term investor Dyodd

There is no confirmation that the kepple offer is linked to SCI/SNM . It is the spuculation by the mkt players . Thos who bought kepple high price hope there is a deal , just hopeful that all . Anyway I sold all my keppel , feel no piont hopjng for someting out of imagination. | ||||

I agree. Temasek already owned 20.5% Keppel Corp. After taking so many months of domestic and foreign regulatory approvals. The Temasek strategic plan sure to proceed. The plan include company refocusing and strengthening certain business such as strategic partnerships, acquisitions, disposals or mergers.

Many people who used CPF to invest above $6.50 must be curse and swear.. Hope the deal will still proceed with some adjustment of offer price $7.35 in view of covid19 situation. Hopefully the NAV can still remain at above $6.00

The impairment charge for Keppel from Floatel&rsquo s review could be about S$130mil, according to Macquarie Group Ltd. estimates. Factoring in its investment gains and land sale, I think it' s very tough for Keppel to meet and to stay within the material adverse change clause for the deal with Temasek.

TH may revise their offer price but it will not be in their interests to call off the deal. TH needs to take control of Keppel to engineer a merger between Keppel O& M and SCM. Both of these arms are cancerous to Keppel and SCI and by merging them , TH will derive better value via higher stock prices for their Keppel and SCI holdings.

Do you think Temasek will proceed with the Sembcorp deal announced just in June if they have no intention to proceed with the Keppel deal? Offer was announced when keppel was trading at $5.84 which is not far off from today. From TA expert' s reasoning, why didn' t Temasek simply acquire from the market but announce acquisition at such an " expensive" price? |

Certainly. Keppel is a $7 stock at minimum. Just like sembcorp, it is unfortunate to be dragged down by the marine segment. And Temasek having huge stakes in the 2 companies has a grand restructing plan for this 2 mighty conglomerates. Hop on the boat and ride it along with the big boss. The Offer Price of S$7.35 per Share is not excessive considering that Keppel was a $11 stock as recent as 2014 and $8 stock in 2018. " " Following the successful close of the Partial Offer, the Offeror intends to work with the board of directors of the Company in undertaking a comprehensive strategic review of its businesses (the &ldquo Strategic Review&rdquo ) with the objective of creating sustainable value for all Shareholders. In order to facilitate such a Strategic Review, the Offeror may propose new directors to the board of directors of the Company after the close of the Partial Offer.
