 Alert Admin 		Group net profit for 2016, down 49% from for 2015. This was due largely to lower contributions from the Offshore & Marine (O& M) Division, additional provisions for impairment of $336  million, mainly arising from the rightsizing of Keppel Offshore & Marine and impairments of investments and stocks & work‑ in‑ progress. But this time around what' s the impairment losses???

Result is nex Thur 30th ....and they choose to warn so early .....hmm must be this that cause the sell down ...wonder how much is this impairment ?

Keppel Corp had carried out a review on the  assumptions used to assess the carrying values of certain assets of the group, including the recoverability of contract assets, receivable balances and stocks under work-in-progress in relation to the O& M business, as well as investments in associated companies.

Amid the highly volatile environment and low oil prices where oil majors are curtailing exploration and production spending, day rates and utilisation rates for the O& M industry generally, and specifically the group' s O& M business, have been " adversely impacted" .

 Alert Admin 		I think it should be the best time now for Temasek to pick up from open market instead of paying more than 20% premium.
This could be saved up to S$1 billion instead. If Temasek is really looking into restructuring Keppel Crop and Sembcorp Industries & Sembcorp Marine.

Thanks for summing up the individual parts of KEP Gp ......
Marine and Properties....I have doubt it can do well for Q2 ......shut down period wld means no work in progress for Marine.   
Doubt also any possible property sales w NO viewing or minimum. 
So I wld guess Q2 result with those porfit for 1/4 pts can more of less cover the lost for marine etc.   
Kep result cld be flat ( issue is the dividend payout ...cut / reduce or continue ???

Temasek is always a LONG term investor and wld be totally surpirse if they VIEW only this qtr result alone for any decision on the deal .
As such ,  I think ( IMO ) ths deal w bad results expected in coming qtrs are alrdy factor into their plan .   
Dyodd ....time will tell.

Keppel results considered not bad in view of covid19. The profit should be stayed within the Temasek deal. 

1. Keppel Reit 1st Half ( Distribute income ) = S$94.8 million 
2. Keppel DC Reit 1st Half (DI)    = S$75 million (up 38%)
3. Keppel Pacific Oak US Reit 1st Half (DI) = US$29.1 million (up 17.6%)
4. Keppel Infrustructure 1st Halft (DCF) = S$113.3 million ( up 20%)
5. Kepper Corp - The properties division should be doing well and Marine sectors is not doing well.Overall the profit offset should still remain positive.

Keppel Corp unit to invest in data centre in China' s Tonghu Smart City
 
THE Alpha Data Centre Fund (Alpha DC Fund), managed by Keppel Capital' s wholly-owned unit Alpha Investment Partners, is set to invest 1.5 billion yuan (S$300 million) to acquire and develop a data centre in Tonghu Smart City in Huizhou in southern China. 
 
The Alpha DC Fund, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, entered into an agreement to acquire a 100 per cent stake in Huizhou Bike Property, a fully-owned subsidiary of Chinese property developer Country Garden Holdings. Huizhou Bike will own the greenfield data centre development. 
 
Alvin Mah, chief executive of Alpha Investment Partners, said in a statement that this will mark the fund' s first asset in China, which is apparently pushing ahead a " New Infrastructure campaign" focusing on " information-based, converged and innovative infrastructure" . The data centre will be sited near Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan. 
 
" This investment will provide further diversification to the fund&rsquo s portfolio, and enhance the risk-adjusted returns for our investors," he added. 
 
When fully developed - although the statement did not say when - the data centre in Huizhou will fit more than 6,000 high-density racks and have China Data Centre Class A GB-standard equivalent specifications.
 
The data centre, which is expected to have gross floor area (GFA) of 486,700 sq ft, will be developed in two phases, with completion expected in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
 
The data centre site could also add another 538,200sq ft to its GFA, which would bring the total GFA to about 1.02 million sq ft.
 
Country Garden will combine its capabilities with Keppel Data Centres' in undertaking the construction of the data centre' s " core and shell" .
 
Keppel Data Centres will also collaborate with local data centre operator Shenzhen Huateng Smart Technology to implement " global best practices for data centre operations" in this data centre.
