I expect China to come up with 145% tariffs on usa soon. Downside for the 3 banks remains very high. At some point, the two have to make a deal as both being hit hard, esp USA for obvious reasons. Best to nibble as they slide.

First on 16th April before Easter ....DBS SH will be collecting their 60c dividend. Not forgetting the 2nd bigger part w result on 8 May ...payout is normally faster within May 75c. So this could keep its SH wait out during this crazy time. OCBC xd 25th and UOB xd 28th April . Honestly 90 days later....I doubt Mad man can settle anything w China ....at most arranged a meet up However, is he going to take ON the world ....even w his 10% ? Bullshit if he can sign up good deals w all these countries in 90days Internally ....senate and congress and many are after him . Time is running out for him then any of this tarriff ( imagine to implement them LOL ) Let us see who wld blink first.....but in the meantime STOCK may react to every nonsense he comes out with . 90 days or not ....by then it is Q1 result and dividend time again Mad man and his team now is super busy w CHINA tax and EU actions .....USA internal half are all against him..... certainly a worried man by half term . Singapore Exchange (SGX) listed companies are carrying out their third consecutive day of share buybacks amid the global market meltdown that started on Monday after Trump&rsquo s reciprocal tariffs. DBS Group Holdings purchased 700,000 shares between $36.88 and $37.86 for a total cost of $26 million on Apr 9. The bank purchased 1 million shares for $39.1 million and 500,000 shares for a price of $19.108 million on Monday and Tuesday respectively. United Overseas Bank (UOB) purchased 100,000 shares between $30.71 and $31.83 for a total consideration of $3.12 million on Apr 9. The bank paid between $32.01 and $33.67 to buy back 100,000 shares for a total cost of $3.24 million the day before. |

Very obvious it is panic selling now, as entire market simply freak out on what Trump is going to do, and how Xi is going to ignore Trump' s threats. The moment the sky is clearer, market is going to rebounce like siao.. question is no one knows have we reached the bottom yet? My biggest question is, will STI fall below 3000 points and by how much? The current index figure still doesn' t show the market had crashed unlike recent events in 2017 and COVID crash. |

I guess the tariff % dont make any sense now ....as nothing is going to be exported LOL ....imagine the ppl working on this and the paperwork . Everything would stop at this constant changes. EU and Canada or any others adding to the equation would be interesting ....BUT I guess they would rather wait out and see what happen to China. This round I dont think China wld blink ....as they are all ready . More so , I think Trump is not just against China ....the rest of the world and MOST important ...internal US ...at least 50% is against him. Time will tell . Better b patient and wait it out. LOL |

I hope I am wrong .....things would NOT get better for some time IF Trump continues w this game . ( supported by half of Americans .....unfortunately the richer half ....and hate to touch on the politicis of who supported him .... a lot for their personal gain. Not surprise , in Singapore I was equally surprise when a below 30 lady RS won .....for those who know her background is equally surprise . We have big % supporting a liar ( pinochio now ) . ....SO USA will continue to support this Trump ...UNFORTUNATELY ) As to our market ....I think we are over sold ...BUT as we depend on international trade ....our econ will be affected w this global change. Banks should see this very clearly as the transaction centre. Lucky for this small island, we have great leaders and system in place. WE should also be the first to recover ( not surprise if any U turn from any party) My suggestion is that we all DYODD , and depending on your own $$ slow and steady accumulation might be smarter for long term invester. ( no one can catch the bottom and no one knows the bottom ) Good luck

Watching maga tariffs on holidays overseas. The worse yet to come. EU will hit back soon. Now usa mkts in deep, deep red. No need to guess what happens tonight.
