The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) said the affected individual had reportedly consumed raw date palm sap &mdash a known risk factor for Nipah virus infection (NiV). There is currently no evidence of human-to-human transmission in Bangladesh, and no NiV cases linked to Bangladesh or West Bengal have been detected in Singapore. CDA also said that that bio-surveillance has not found NiV in Singapore&rsquo s bat populations.
