Nio is rallying because of better delivery numbers, and the Xpeng Volkswagen deal (mostly the latter). But I am not sure any other OEM would partner with Nio because their tech is lacking and battery swap is not compatible for most OEM cars. So I am not too optimistic about that. I have switched all my Nio to Xpeng last month. Nio is rallying because of better delivery numbers, and the Xpeng Volkswagen deal (mostly the latter). I looked at the financial stats and re-saw the huge gap between the BV and current price. I looked at Tesla and BYD severely cutting cost to fight. I looked at quality long surviving manufacturers promising of up to 1200km per charge cars. I looked at BYD Seagull (starts from US$11K and going up to 450km per charge) As an investor, I made the decision to dump all my Nio holdings ( not a lot actually ) in Singapore at a lost ( still retaining my holdings in HK ) and re-channelled to another tech company.   Nio did not attempt to sell cars in Singapore and only raised money in Singapore. Battery swapping technology is already out-dated is my opinion.   ASEAN forbids nuclear power so Nuclear fission tech is out in ASEAN.   News would sooner or later catch up with investors. Incidentally BYD Seagull has not arrived in Singapore the other day I peaked into BYD showroom after attending SingPost AGM on my way to use the $15 vouchers.   I am more of an investor right now than a trader as I could not afford to not work and stare at the screen whole day long during regular working hours so made the decision to exit.   Most likely would not enter in the short-term due to cashflow constraint. You may be right before the EV market becomes more competitive, traders could still play a little.   Today Nio' s price went up by a lot.
