Why limit SMM to $100mil a year when they are finanlising billion dollar wind farm project with UK Sofia?

For those who bother to actually have a look at SMM' s financial statement, the $100+mil losses reported in the first half is purely creative accounting to convince minority shareholder to accept or not reject the rights issue so Temasek can buy more.

For those who actually go read SMM' s financial statement, you would realise that the $100+ mil reported " losses" are mainly accelerated depreciation of a yard value and delayed recognition of revenue. All non cash event. zero impact on their cashflow.

Lesson 101: How to acquire more shares in a desired company at the cheap?

First, depending on the size of the company you want to corner, you must make sure you have the adequate financial muscle. If the market cap of the company is $20 million, most small-time speculators can play the game. If it is say $2 billion market cap, you require much greater financial power.

Second, create or rope in or collude with 2 or more trading accounts/ partners. Perhaps one originating from London (A), one from US (B) and maybe another one from Hong Kong (C). 

Finally, the game plan start selling to one another at progressive lower price. For example, if the bid offer is 15.3 and 15.4 cents and there are not too many lots queuing at 15.2 and 15.1, " A" could be asked to queue, say 10 million lots at 15 cents, and then B would sell down to A, clearing those small quantities at 15.2 and 15.1 on the way.

This cycle can then be repeated numerous times daily to create the impression that many are willing to sell at lower prices. However, A, B and C are actually accumulating as long as there are more people selling than buying. 

In the case of SMM, the accumulators or short sellers are trying to coax SCI shareholders to let go of their " free" SMM shares at the cheap by pushing up SCI share price  at the same time. (14.5 * 4.9 + 132 = 204).  How much of the daily 100+ million shares traded are genuine transactions is hard to tell.
The game would be over when the selling from SCI retail shareholders dry up in the next couple of weeks/ months.
At some point, when the news flow for SMM turns positive, these same manipulators would play the reserve game. By then, I would assumed that they would have successfully accumulated a sizable SMM position at very attractive prices.
For Temasek, It could be argued that they did not lose anything as they are holding on to all their SMM shares that they know is intrinsically worth 29 cents or more. The eventual real losers are the SMM minority shareholders that did not or could not subscribe to the rights and to a lesser degree, the SCI retail shareholders that were coaxed into letting go their " free" SMM shares at dirt cheap prices.

Thanks to the accumulators or manipulators' effort, I am able to buy another bunch at 14.4 cents today. Hope to add on a bit more in the coming weeks/ months if the game is still on. Stay tuned!

Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) plans to launch the tendering process for the Thor offshore wind farm in the third quarter of 2020 with the issuance of the contract notice and the tender documents.

The    Thor offshore wind farm  will be located in the North Sea west of Thorsminde by Nissum Fjord at a distance of minimum 20 kilometres from the shore and with a capacity of between 800MW and 1,000MW.

The concession winner will be responsible for undertaking the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the concrete project offshore after the signing of the concession agreement. Establishment of necessary nearshore facilities from POC and grid connection forward to the transmission grid at Idomlund will be provided by Energinet. The onshore grid connection will be built to receive 1,000MW in the POC and will be available to receive first power by the first quarter of 2025.

 

The estimated contract values are DKK 13.3 billion (EUR 1.8 billion) for an 800MW project, DKK 15.5 billion (EUR 2.1 billion) for a 900MW wind farm, and DKK 17.7 billion (EUR 2.4 billion) for a 1,000MW project.
 

The potential operators are expected to be large operators or joint ventures with sufficient relevant references regarding the construction of offshore wind farms.

OPEC member Kuwait intends to issue tenders for the purchase of 24 rigs to support plans to expand its oil and gas output capacity, a local newspaper said on Monday.

The government-owned  Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), which manages the upstream sector in the Gulf country, will issue the tenders near future since the tenders were potponed in 2019 due to internal reasons .

KOC announced it would order 24 of the HP750, HP550 and HP1000 rigs
 


The source said  KOC  is planning to use these rigs in its ongoing projects to boost onshore oil and gas production, the report said.

Petrobras executive board has approved the start of contracting processes for three FPSOs for the  Bú zios field  in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil.
 

The FPSOs are part of the asset&rsquo s development plan, which foresees 12 units installed by the end of the decade. At the end of the development phase, the Bú zios field is expected to produce more than 2 MMboe/d, becoming Petrobras&rsquo largest asset, with the highest production.

 

The first of the three new units to start operations will be the FPSO  Almirante Tamandaré , the sixth production system in the field. Production is scheduled to start in the second half of 2024. The FPSO will be chartered and will have a processing capacity of 225,000 b/d of oil and 12 MMcm/d of gas. It will be the largest oil production unit operating on the Brazilian coast and one of the largest in the world, Petrobras claimed.
 

  The other two units will be contracted in EPC mode and will have the capacity to process 180,000 b/d of oil and 7.2 MMcm/d of gas. The  P-78  and  P-79  are expected to start operating in 2025.
 

The company expects to award the contracts in 2021.

I agreed w Maller ....all it takes is a couple of New energy project . 
Catalyst wld be the order of just one or two rig .....Brazil bid is going to restart end yr or early 2021.  SMM is definate a winner 
and Kep OM.  Wld SMM still be 0.15 or ???

 Alert Admin 		I believe that Temasek' s equity portfolio has gone up by quite a fair bit since their 31st March year end.

Their 30% in US stocks should have done amazingly well (S& P500 from 31st March' s 2300 to the current 3200)
Their 25% in China stocks should have done equally well. (Shanghai composite from 31st March' s 2750 to the current 3220)
Their 24% in Spore stocks (STI from 31st March' s 2300 to the current 2450)

The " Temasekians" should be getting good bonuses if things don' t change much by 31st March 2021.
