Long time didn' t comment on this stock, because nothing new developed. We shall wait for FY results and the accompany dividend declaration. Not going to speculate what' s the results going to be like because really, YZJF just started its own journey in May last year after separated from YZJS. For goodness sake it wtill need at least 2 to 3 years to implement all its strategies, it has outlined what it intend to do, chiefly, transforming from DI to other investments such as family wealth management, maritime fund and to invest outside China 50/50 ratio etc. What we do know now is that while it is focusing on growing the company, it has committed to pay minimum 40% of eps as dividends. Some commented that SBB stopoed but it would be reckless to keep buying back share without strategy. As it is now, the share price has kind of ' stabilised' , no point keep buying back shares knowing that short sellers are waiting for price to move up and whack it down. Let them short and let genuine investors pick up shares at cheap price and when the time come if years after years good profits with good dividends, the market will take care of the short sellers and share prices naturally. What else we want? Share price shoot up to $1 straightaway? Have to wait lah, in the short term the issue is their NPL, whehter can write back or not eventually is crucial. Given that all the loans were secured with collateral (up to 3 times), it would be resonable to conclue that at least 70-80% of NPL is recoverable. Not only that, the NPL may not be NPL after all because the moment debtor did' t pay beyond due date YZJF will classify it as NPL. Now, how many times have we missed paying bills for whatever reasons other than unable to pay? Maybe forgot, maybe purposely want to delay payment, maybe fund delayed elsewhere etc. Personally I have missed a few bills by due date here and there but I have never defaulted any payment. The point is, we can do either one of two things, be patient or sell now. |

I think CFD is another way that is not directly short to the share(if I am not wrong and may need to do more research on this). For shorting - first, you need to indicate the trade is a short sell when you make the trade. Second, you need to close the short sale by buying back the stocks within the same day (there are some ruling). Failing which, you will need to borrow shares in order to stay short beyond one day. You will be forced to buy it back at an unfavourable price and pay additional fees if there are insufficient scripts to borrow. In CDP, I think I remember I got letter on the share loan before(cannot remember correctly). stock price are not only about a stock is worth that much. even if a stock is worthless and an a big bluff. if there is a group with money. unlimited money buying limited number of shares can push price up up and away. so if there is a big shorts and the big buyer said i take over at $x there is no way the short can make money. |

Thanks for referring the video. It actually has both English & Chinese subtitles. I find the case examples quite interesting and humorous. Good highlights of the roles, merits & demerits of shorting in stock markets. Seems that now people use CFDs to short rather than borrow shares. Don' t understand how CFDs work. 🤔

Short selling can choose to buy back or not to. Just that they have to pay the fee(interest) when they borrow the share to short and/or any dividend paid (after xd if any). Some will sell before xd, most will only buy back when earn enough(if drop and earn) or cut lost(when cannot tahan when share price keep going up)

Lot of retail and yzj management piss off cos it supposed to be a value unlock process not value destroy one. But again i doubt yzjfh understand sgx market mentalities to china fonancial asset china financial deem worthless as rmb not open so any investment in debt or stock consider junk grade. for retail investors who has received it free via distributions. it is a zero cost investment with nta of $1.09. the traded price is $0.355 cannot understand the real reasons for such low price traded versus cash quasi cash asset. may be real think mostly fake. due to short suppression, those who want to collect more and possible market maker actions. for free shares with no debt and producing or will be producing dividend i keep to get infinite dividend. free. why worry unless i need money else where. in fact more likely to reinvest any dividend received to increase the free return over time. just like my cdl htrust also received free. i just enjoy the constant 1/2 year dividend. why worry? dyodd |

Throwing out $200m to do SSB look peanut to YZJFH that is alrdy $0.05 per share. YZJFH is like a goat fatten over 10+ years of retained earning from both it shipping arm and DI. Everyone waiting to slaughter it and split the meat lol. There is low interest in ESG fund as developed countries go recession this year and near. YZJFH exist to unlock value and split loot lol. |

From volume transacted last year, once price go under 0.48 volume shrink by a lot and stay there till now. Most retail investors who got the free shares still holding on for possible value unlock from DI reduction. The reduction of DI from current 56% to 30% would free out minimum $1b +cash, whether it Gona be redistribute to investor or invest in fund etc. It would result in short term doubling of current cash holdv$1.25b. Really with interest rate so high, investors all going after bond, equity and growth fund ignor. Hopefully in full year result, they can drop hint on future of free up cash hold. Expected net profit 190-220m 35% drop due to DI reduction from 70% to 56%, EPS =0.05-0.06 By the way dividend guidance is minimum 40% they can give 0.04 as long they feel no need to hold that much cash. Don assume dividend is 40% that is worst case scenario. |
